“I have known Sedloski for a long time, we have played together a lot. He is a young coach, I believe in him and I hope he will achieve great success in the national team,” said Goran Pandev, who attended the presentation.
“For me, this is a great honor, but also a great responsibility, probably the greatest in my career. Our goal will be to build a clear system of play, discipline, character. I will demand maximum engagement, courage and desire in every match. A team that will fight until the last minute. I am convinced that FFM will provide us with the best working conditions. For the national team, one must give above the maximum, more than in the clubs,” were Sedloski’s first words as a coach.
Sedloski will have a difficult debut – he will make his debut directly in the World Cup play-off against Denmark on the road.
“I know all the players who were in the national team. There will be refreshments. Everyone who deserves to wear the national team top will be called up. With Denmark, I will ask everyone to give above average and with disciplined play to achieve our goal. It will be a difficult match on the away field, but for us as well as for them.”
The president of the FFM, Masar Omeragić, added: “If we didn’t believe in our choice, we wouldn’t have made it. We absolutely believe that we can eliminate Denmark. If someone doesn’t believe in such a thing, they shouldn’t even get on the plane to Copenhagen. Just as everyone else believes in themselves, we must start believing in ourselves to the fullest.”
Sedloski added that there are players in the Macedonian league who play regularly and who can increase the competition in the national team.
“We should not underestimate our domestic league. I will strive to have 4 to 5 players from our league in every squad,” he said, adding that he will also speak with former national team players Stefan Ristovski and Arijan Ademi about their possible return to the national team.
Sedloski’s coaching staff will include Borche Hristov, Gogo Jovchev as goalkeeper coach, and Erhan Selimi, who is the coach of the under-19 national team.
President Omeragić noted that Sedloski will work pro bono until June, as until then he only has national team obligations in March. “We do not want to harm any club, as we previously did with the U21 coach. Sedloski will finish the season at his club.”
