Defender Sedat Berisha, who spent the first half of the season with Metalurg, is currently on trial at Swedish second division side Ljungskile SK.
The move was first reported by newspaper Makedonski Sport. The news was also reported in Swedish newspapers as well. Tor-Arne Fredheim, the Ljungskile SK manager, told one local paper that his team in looking for central defenders, thus the reason that Berisha is on trial. There are other players who are also on trial at the club.
Fredheim said, “These are players we want to check, so we’ll see. We have no central defenders.”
Ljungskile SK finished in 9th place during the 2013 season, while the 2014 season gets underway in early April of this year.
The 24-year-old Berisha has spent his entire career in Macedonia’s domestic league. He joined Metalurg at the start of the 2013-14 season from Shkendija. Sedat formerly was capped for Macedonia’s youth national teams, and has also made one appearance for the senior national team in December of 2012. That came during a friendly between Macedonia and Poland when then manager Chedomir Janevski called up mainly players from the domestic league to test their abilities. Macedonia would go on to lose that match 1:4.
