Round 20: Vardar – Shkendija 6:1

Vardar finally won and it was quite a win.

Nikola Ilievski finally noted the first win with Vardar after he was named manager. And it was a dominating win over Shkendija in the last match of the 20th round. Vardar destroyed the visitors and eventually celebrated a crashing 6:1 win. At the same time, this is the highest win of the season so far.

The scoring was opened early in the match when Kostovski used Gjorgiev’s assist in 13th minute. Ejupi equalized in 38th minute, but Shkendija was not able to hold the draw until half-time. In fact, they conceded three more goals. Stojkov scored his first goal for Vardar on the debut in 42nd minute, Stjepanovikj added one more in 45th minute scoring a beauty from 40 meters and Stojkov made sure he had a dream debut after he used another of Gjorgiev’s assists and scored his second goal, Vardar’s fourth.

In the second half – similar situation on the pitch. Vardar dominated and added two more goals in Nikov’s net. Lazarevski scored his first goal for Vardar after a well-taken free kick in 64th minute. Filip Petrov concluded the goals galore in 83th minute, setting the final score of 6:1.

Vardar played this match without the support of their fans Komiti who decided to boycott the match because of the two consecutive postponements of Vardar derby matches, against Pelister in the last round and this one who was supposed to be played on Sunday.
