Renova – Bnei Sakhnin 1:2

renovaFK Renova from Dzepciste, the Macedonian representative in the UEFA Intertoto Cup, have been defeated with 1:2 by the Israeli side Bnei Sakhnin in the first leg of the second round.

The match has started on the Gradski stadium in Skopje. After eliminating Croatian club Rijeka, Renova will now try to extend their biggest success in the history of the club. Israeli club Bnei Sahnin have arrived in Skopje with reduced squad and will have very hard task against Renova, who have support on the stadium although they don’t play on their stadium in Tetovo.
15 minutes have passed but no team has managed to create chances on the goal under the heat in Skopje. Renova have slight domination, but no attempt on goal so far. Genc Iseni from Renova earned the first yellow card on the match.
Bnei Sakhnin had the first chance on the match after a fast attack but Rabbah’s shot passed next to Renova’s goal. Few minutes later Renova had an attemp, but Memedi’s header was easy catch for Israeli goalkeeper Cohen. 10 minutes left from the first half.
GOAL! Bnei Sakhnin lead 0:1.Vanco Trajcov fouled Khalaila in the box and the referee blown the whistle for a penalty kick. Khaled Khalaila didn’t have big problem to put the ball into Renova’s net from the penalty spot.
Half time 0:1. After gaining more of the play on the pitch and converting the chance into a goal, Bnei Sakhnin will go on the half time break with a 0:1. Renova’s coach Vlatko Kostov will have hard task during the break to motivate the players and make the right tactics in order to outplay the guests in the second half.

The second half has started in which Renova will surely try to overcome Bnei Sakhnin’s lead, but the guests also will try to increase their lead for safer rematch.
Right on the start of the second half the guests created a chance which Memedi had to stop with a foul and earn a yellow card for that. The free kick shot ended wide above the goal.
Renova has strengthened the tempo and went more in attack but still failing to create any serious threat on the opposition goal. On the other side, Bnei Sakhnin use this situation and are threatening on Renova’s goal with counter attacks.

Two goals in 2 minutes. Abed Rabbah sent a shot from the side towards Renova’s goal and the unexpecting ball ended in Elezi’s goal. In the next attack the Macedonian U21 national team member Besart Ibraimi managed to reduce Sakhnin’s lead.
Renova now went all in attack and that could have been fatal for them as Bnei Sakhnin had two serious chances after quick counter attacks but luckily the ball didn’t end in Elezi’s goal.
Besart Ibraimi had serious chance on 15 minutes from the end, but Cohen managed to save his long shot.
It looks like the 4000 fans on the stands together with Renova’s players have accepted the fact that they will be defeated today as the attacks by the hosts are reduced and everybody is waiting for referee’s whistle.
Full time 1:2! The referee Marcus Strombergsson blows the whistle to end the match. Renova will travel to Israel with a bad result and a 1:2 deficit. Spanish giants Deportiva La Coruna is awaiting the winner of this duel in the third round and the stake is big, so let’s hope that Renov’s players will be motivated enough to overcome this result on the rematch. The rematch will be played on 12 July at 20:00 CET in Haifa.
