Rabotnicki qualify, Vardar eliminated

 Rabotnicki Kometal qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup after another 2:1 win over the Slovenian club Hit Gorica. Vardar were eliminated on Cyprus by Anorthosis Famagusta with another 1:0 defeat. In the next round Rabotnicki will face Partizan from Belgrade or the Bosnian Zrinjski.

Rabotnicki is the only Macedonian club left in the European competitions after the first qualifying round of the UEFA Cup. With another solid performance and 2:1 win, they have eliminated the Slovenian club Hit Gorica. Rabotnicki had easier task knowing that they already had the lead after the 1:2 away win in the first match. Krste Velkovski with nice goal in the 45th and Ertan Demiri after the assist from Ignjatov in the 69th minute sealed Rabotnicki's victory. Demirovic in the 85th minute from penalty kick only lightened the defeat for the visitors from Slovenia.
 
Vardar had very hard task on Cyprus after the unlucky 0:1 defeat on the first match in Skopje. The hosts Anorthosis supported by their fans had the control of the match. In the 55th minute Zlogar scored the only goal which was crucial for Vardar's elimination. This year's European journey for Vardar was sealed in the 58th minute when they were left on the pitch with 10 players after Sekulovski received red card.
