Rabotnichki beat Bregalnica Shtip with 3:1, Renova and Pelister played a goalless draw in the first two matches of Round 18 in the Macedonian First League.
The Club Hero probably played its best game this season, beating Bregalnica with 3:1, scoring all the three goals in the first half. But sadly, this was the last round before the long winter break. Winger Blagoja Todorovski opened the score with a shot from the distance in the 23rd minute after he received a pass from Stefan Spirovski, central defender Gjoko Zajkov doubled the lead in the 30th minute with a header, while 8 minutes later midfielder Stefan Spirovski scored Rabotnichki’s third goal with a right footed shot after a pass by Ivan Ristovski from the left side. Captain Krste Velkoski played also a part in this goal as Ristovski’s pass was thought for him but he let the ball through for his teammate Spirovski.
Looking at the events in the first half, many expected a disaster for the visitors from Shtip, but instead Bregalnica managed to pull one back through winger Ivan Mitrov who headed home a cross from Goran Zdravkov in the 66th minute. With this win Rabotnichki escaped from the relegation play-off places and will spend the winter on the 8th place.
In Tetovo, Renova and Pelister didn’t offer much entertainment, mainly because of the snowy conditions which made the pitch realy hard to play. They shared the points in a goalless draw which puts both teams in the relegation play-off places with Renova being the upper side.
All the rest four games will be played tomorrow after which will follow a long winter break lasting until 2 March. Teteks and Shkendija will play the Derby of Tetovo, but on a stadium in Skopje. Holders and current leaders Vardar host Sileks while Metalurg visits the surprise of the season Napredok.
