The departure of Damjan Shishkovski to Belgian top division side Gent forced Rabotnichki to look for a new keeper, and the club’s board found a solid replacement in signing one of the most promising Macedonian keepers in Andreja Efremov. He signed on 2 years.

The 22-year-old who started his career in Ovche Pole in his native town of Sv. Nikole, made a name for himself with his good performances for Metalurg over the past several seasons. He made his First League debut in the 4:0 trashing of Pelister on 5 March 2011. Since the second half of the 2012/13 season, he was promoted as the number 1 keeper in the green jersey. He was also a national team keeper for the U21 and U19 youth national teams, while this year he debuted for the senior national team in the goalless draw against Qatar when he played the second half. His second and thus far last appearance under Boshko Gjurovski was another 0:0 draw, but this time against China.

Efremov is the first winter signing for Rabotnichki who is fighting on both fronts in order to defend the league and cup titles that were won last season. Andreja comes to Rabotnichki as a free agent since his contract expired at the conclusion of the first half of the season. Besides Shishkovski, the Club Hero will have to seek replacements for Tauljant Sulejmanov who is leaving for Swiss side Young Boys and for Croatian central defender Igor Gal.
