Macedonia’s biggest derby between eternal rivals Vardar and Pelister is on the schedule this weekend as well as some other interesting matches.

The Derby of Macedonia will be played last of all games this round. On Sunday at 19.00 CET in Skopje, defending champions Vardar will host its biggest rival in the history of Macedonian football, Pelister from Bitola. The rivalry between these two dates back since the era of former Yugoslavia, but became even more intense since the independence of Macedonia and the early 90s. Both teams have players who have played for their rivals. Vardar has attacker Borche Manevski who is born in Bitola and started his caree in Pelister, while the Green&White have Toni Veljanoski, Blagojche Markovski and their captain Dimche Ristevski. Veljanoski and Risteski were part of Vardar’s team that last season won the title. The new section that we started a week ago with the Derby of Tetovo, continued with few questions answered by Dimche Ristevski, but is left without anyone from Vardar since the club has instructed the players not to talk to the media.

In the other games, it should be interesting in Tetovo where Renova and Shkendija face in the small derby of the town. Than Napredok is hosting Bregalnica Shtip, Metalurg is visiting Teteks, Horizont Turnovo hosts Rabotnichki, while Drita and Sileks are facing in Bogovinje.
