First leg of the semi-final matches of the Macedonian Cup will be played tomorrow.

Metalurg, strongest favorites for winning the trophy at the moment, will be hosting Napredok. There will not be lots of welcoming here as the last time these two teams met, it didn’t go very well and incidents were noted on a video. But, a cup competition is interesting because of the fact that underdogs always have better chances and Napredok must not be underestimated. Bookies price Metalurg’s win at 1.25, while Napredok’s win pays 9 times the investment. Certainly interesting match in hand, in which both Metalurg and Napredok will be looking for their first trophy and at the same time visa for Europe.

The only second-league team remaining in the competition, Tikves, will be hosting title-defenders Teteks. The second semi-final also promises an amazing battle as Tikves did a lot to reach the semi-finals and have gotten themselves into mini-crisis after losing 2 consecutive matches in the second league against their promotion opponents and find themselves third on the table now with big gap between them and second placed 11 Oktomvri. On the other hand, Teteks, reigning champions, only see the cup as an opportunity for European matches once again next season as it is looking almost impossible for them to reach places that lead to Europe through the Championship. Kavadarci should see a football fiesta here as both teams will be looking for the win, but only one can advance to the grand finale.
