Preston Lions is coming to Macedonia, will play against Vardar and Pelister

The most famous club of the Macedonian diaspora in Australia, Preston Lions, has announced that it is coming on tour to Macedonia, visiting Skopje, Bitola and Ohrid.

We are honoured to announce that our Senior Men’s team will be representing our club and community in Macedonia with the team leaving this Monday Sept 15, the trip will serve as a pre Australian Championship Training Camp,” the club announced.

The club and players will also use the tour for volunteer activities and participate in humanitarian charity initiatives, including the distribution of funds raised by the Kocani Appeal for the victims of the fire at the disco in Kochani.

Preston Lions revealed that the Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Football Federation of Macedonia played a key role in the realization of this tour.

“This trip has been made possible by the amazing efforts of the Foreign Minister of Macedonia, the Hon. Timcho Mucunski and the Football Federation of Macedonia led by President Masar Omeragikj. The team will be the guest of FFM as we travel and play in Ohrid, Skopje and Bitola.”

“The trip has been fully funded by FFM, our sponsors, some kind individuals, a player contribution, as well as the generosity of our airline partner Turkish Airlines.”

The Preston Lions will play against Vardar in Skopje on 23 September at 16:00 CET, and against Pelister in Bitola on the 25th at the same time. They have not announced who they will play in Ohrid.
