Peshevski moves to Dukla Banská Bystrica

Another player has solved his club situation. The latest to do so is Dejan Peshevski who has signed with Dukla Banská Bystrica.

Dukla Banská Bystrica is a popular and famous club in Slovakia, but they have fallen on hard times. The team now competes in the second division where their form to start the 2015-16 season has been disastrous. Dukla had lost each game in the opening six rounds before Sunday’s fixture versus the reserves of Spartak Trnava.

So, looking to improve upon that, Dukla Banská Bystrica opted to sign free agent Dejan Peshevski. The 22-year-old winger, who last played for Koper in Slovenia, was signed on time to be eligible for Sunday’s match. Peshevski would go on to play all 90 minutes with Dukla finally winning its first game and points of the season. They won 2:1 over Spartak Trnava II.

Peshevski was motivated not only because this was his debut, but also because Spartak Trnava was one of his former clubs. He used to play for their youth academy before being released by Spartak Trnava in 2013 due to a nightclub incident. He briefly played for Koper earlier this year before his contract was terminated in the summer.

Several weeks ago, Peshevski was on trial at Beitar Jerusalem in Israel, but that club decided not to offer him a contract. Dejan, therefore, remained a free agent before being scooped up by Dukla.

One of his teammates at Dukla is Tihomir Kostadinov, a fringe member of Macedonia’s U21 national team. Kostadinov, who wears #10, started and played 85 minutes on Sunday.

With this much needed win, Dukla now has 3 points after seven rounds. They remain in last place, trailing the leader Pohronie by 13 points.
