Pandev to miss Serbia match

Goran Pandev won’t play against Serbia in order to be fresh for Napoli’s game against Roma on Friday.

Napoli requested the withdrawal of Goran Pandev from national duty which was accepted by FFM. Officially, Pandev won’t travel to Jagodina where Macedonia will play their last game in the qualifications for the World Cup in Brazil next June. According to FIFA rules, FFM had the right not to accept Napoli’s request, but decided to show good will.

He will now concentrate on the more important game, the one on Friday when Napoli travels away to face Serie A leaders Roma. After losing the game against Wales, Macedonia lost all chances to be in the 4th pot for the draw for the EURO 2016 qualifications, meaning the last game against Serbia will only affect the final group standings.

Also, Vanche Shikov will miss the last game due to a yellow cards suspension.
