Goran Pandev started on the bench for Napoli before he entered the game in the 71st minute replacing Edinson Cavani during today’s match against Villarreal.
Napoli secured a 2:0 victory over Villarreal in the second matchday of Group A in the UEFA Champions League. Napoli scored two goals in the span of three minutes during the 1st half to notch the victory. Napoli is now second in their group with four points, trailing only German giants Bayern München who have the maximum six points. As for the other teams in the group, Manchester City is in third place with one point while Villarreal is at the bottom without a point.
Pandev came on in the 71st minute replacing Edinson Cavani who was struggling with an injury. Goran played as the lone striker up front during his 20 minutes on the field. Napoli was focused on defending their lead so they didn’t create many opportunities. Pandev was briefly through on goal in the 88th minute but he was barely offside so nothing came of that chance.
