Pandev and Inter were grouped with CSKA Moskva, Lille, and Trabzonspor in Group B while Trickovski and APOEL received Porto, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Zenit in Group G.

The opponents for Goran Pandev and Ivan Trickovski are now known after today’s UEFA Champions League draw.  Pandev and Inter were pretty fortunate as they received one of the easiest groups in the competition with CSKA Moskva, Lille, and Trabzonspor.  Inter will ceratainly be the favorite to win the group as Trabzonspor recently replaced fellow Turkish club Fenerbahçe in the competition due to the latter club being accused of match fixing.  Keep in mind that Inter and CSKA Moskva met during the quarter-finals of the 2009-10 UEFA Champions League and Inter came out on top by winning 2:0 on aggregate over the two games.  Inter then went on to win the competition that season by defeating Bayern München 2:0 in the final.

Meanwhile, Trickovski and APOEL received a strong group by being drawn with the defending champions in Portugal, Ukraine, and Russia.  Porto dominated the Portuguese league last season and has a very solid team, Shakhtar Donetsk reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League last year, while Zenit is a rich Russian club sponsored by the large gas company Gazprom.
