Overview of Round 23 in the Second League

The derby game of this round took place at the Gradski stadium in Gostivar where the home team hosted Makedonija GjP. It was a battle between the 3rd and 4th placed teams on the table. After a goalless first half, it was Gostivar who opened the scoring through Martin Blazhevski just four minutes into the second half. Later, Elvir Nurishi doubled the lead, bringing Gostivar an important win to move them into the third position.

A direct duel between the two teams fighting to avoid direct relegation happened at the Cementarnica stadium in Skopje. Gorno Lisiche, who occupies a relegation play-off spot in 8th place, hosted Drita, the team that occupies a direct relegation spot in 9th place. In what was a tense match, it was goalless until the 78th minute when Alen Jasharoski scored what proved to be the game winning goal for Gorno Lisiche. So, with these three points, Gorno Lisiche moved five points clear of Drita who seems destined for direct relegation, together with bottom ranked Napredok.

Vlazrimi 77 recorded an important win over Skopje to put some breathing room ahead of its competitors for avoiding the relegation play-off. Vlazrimi 77 may even fancy to battle for a promotion play-off spot after this win, but that still appears to be a long shot. As for this game, Skopje defended successfully until the 43rd minute when a penalty kick was given to Vlazrimi 77. That spot kick was converted by Kushtrim Balazhi and Vlazrimi 77 followed that up with two more goals for a commanding 3:0 lead. Visiting reserve player Aleksandar Popovski scored a brace to make for a nervy finish, but Vlazrimi 77 was able to hang on to the narrow 3:2 win.

Moment in the Vlazrimi vs. Skopje match 

Second placed Mladost Carev Dvor recorded a hard fought 1:0 victory over Kozhuf Miravci. Mladost is holding onto the second position on the table, and thanks to the defeat of Makedonija GjP, they have now moved five points clear. Blagojche Konjarski notched the only goal seven minutes from time to give Mladost all three points.

In the remaining game, leaders Shkupi made easy work of last placed Napredok. This was a complete mismatch as Shkupi scored 8 goals to build up their goal difference even more. Fatmir Arif led the way with a hat-trick, while Miran Maksuti added a brace.
