A spokesperson for OH Leuven told Belgian newspaper “VoetbalNieuws.be” that Kostovski is indeed under consideration for the club, but a contract has not been signed, as was reported by other sources.
The transfer saga surrounding Jovan Kostovski continued with OH Leuven of Belgium becoming the latest club linked with the Macedonian striker. Daily newspaper “Makedonski Sport” reported earlier on Saturday that Kostovski reversed course and decided to sign with OH Leuven over Dinamo București. Belgian newspapers got hold of the news which led “VoetbalNieuws.be” to seek comment about the rumor from OH Leuven.
The club’s spokesman, Chris Vandebroeck, wrote the following to the newspaper, “I’m not going to deny that we are considering a potential deal. However, no transfer will be announced after Saturday’s game because there is nothing concrete at this time. We don’t want to have disappointed fans.”
OH Leuven won Saturday’s game 2:1 against Lokeren to notch their first win of the early season. If Kostovski happens to sign with OH Leuven, he would be the fourth Macedonian international to play in Belgium’s top flight after Ivan Trichkovski (Waasland-Beveren), Tome Pachovski (Mechelen) and Aleksandar Trajkovski (Zulte Waregem).
