Newly promoted German Bundesliga club Darmstadt 98 has expressed interest in signing Nikolche Noveski.
Reputable German newspaper “Bild” reported on Thursday that Nikolche Noveski may be closing in on a new team. Darmstadt 98, a newly promoted side for the 2015-16 season in Germany, is the club that is linked with Noveski.
Noveski, despite being 36 years old, has no plans to retire this summer. He will play at least one more season, and wants to do that in the German top flight. Darmstadt 98 fulfills that requirement. Furthermore, Darmstadt is located in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main region, which is also the home for fellow Bundesliga sides Mainz and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Due to the close vicinity, Noveski can even live in the same house if he were to sign with Darmstadt 98. This rumor makes too much sense not to happen.
Despite Noveski’s love for Mainz, where he is a club legend after spending more than a decade there, Nikolche has something to prove. The management and coaches of Mainz felt he couldn’t help them anymore, so staying in the Bundesliga with a club that is nearby can be enticing.

Alen Augustincic, the agent of Noveski, said the following to Bild, “Nikolche has offers from the Bundesliga and abroad. He will decide what to do by himself.”
Additionally, when contacted by Bild, the manager of Darmstadt 98, Dirk Schuster, called Noveski “an interesting player.”
Noveski is a great influence in the locker room who serves as an extra coach on and off the field. He is well respected by teammates and still feels he can play at a high level. This is a rumor that ACTUALLY makes sense, so Nikolche could very well be headed to Darmstadt 98.
