Nikola Jakimovski moves to Japan

Nikola Jakimovski (C, #9); photo: novosti.rs The rumors about Nikola Jakimovski came true as he signed for Japanese club Nagoya Grampus.

Jakimovski ended his stay in Serbia and signed for Nagoya Grampus who finished this years season in Japan on the seventh place, as MacedonianFootball.com reported several days ago. Nagoya’s manager is famous Dragan Stojković “Piksi” while Macedonian Boshko Gjurovski figures as his assistant coach, this should ease Jakimovski’s acclimatization to the new environment.

The 22-year-old offensive allrounder last played for Serbian side Javor from Ivanjica where he arrived in sommer 2011 from Ungarian club Ferencváros, therefore Nagoya is his third international station. In Macedonia Jakimovski was active for Teteks and Makedonija Gjorche Petrov.

Although Japan is not an usual destination for talents from Europe this move could be a smart step for the former member of Macedonia’s U21 national team as the Japanese league has a respectable quality and brought out some good players during the last years.
