Nikola Ilievski resigned from Vardar

Following the defeat in the Derby of Macedonia, Nikola Ilievski has immediately resigned from Vardar.

Nikola Ilievski “Djidji” was named manager of Vardar after the first half-season. Vardar were leaders on the table then, but the management decided to install Ilievski on the bench. Although the friendly matches during the winter test period went bad for Vardar, Djidji was assuring the fans they got nothing to worry.

However, since the league started, Vardar noted only two wins, three defeats and two draws. The last defeat, against their biggest rival Pelister, at home, was the drop that spilled the cup.

Vardar are yet to announce a replacement while their next match is the first leg of the semi-final of the Macedonian Cup, against Shkendija, in two days.
