Nemanja Mijuskovic signs contract with Vardar

Vardar stayed busy in the summer transfer window by adding Nemanja Mijuskovic, a central defender from Montenegro.

Nemanja Mijuskovic, a 23-year-old, was on trial with Vardar during their current training camp in Austria. He left a good enough enough impression to officially sign a contract with the club. That was done now since the deadline is fast approaching for registering players for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. There, Vardar was drawn to face APOEL.

Mijuskovic gives Vardar another option in central defense. Zlatko Tanevski is still out with an injury, so manager Sergey Andreyev asked management to bring in one more player at that position. Mijuskovic will compete with Darko Velkovski and Dino Najdoski to see who will partner Boban Grncharov in the center of Vardar’s defense against APOEL. Velkovski is currently the favorite to start next to Grncharov.

The contract was signed by Nemanja on Sunday. Look for Vardar’s website to make it official on Monday. Mijuskovic last played for Rudar Pljevlja, the current champions from Montenegro. So, he moves from one first placed club to another in the Balkan region.

Mijuskovic becomes Vardar’s seventh addition this summer after Filip Gachevski, Darko Velkovski, Vladica Brdarovski, Boban Nikolov, Juan Felipe and Aco Stojkov. They have addressed each area on the pitch with their signings.
