Veteran defender Igor Mitreski has been transfer listed by Neftçi and will seek a new team prior to the end of the summer transfer window.

There is now a reason as to why Igor Mitreski was not in the Neftçi squad for yesterday’s return leg of their Champions League third qualifying round against Ironi Kiryat Shmona.  Mitreski has been transfer listed by the club who will attempt to sell him in the near future.  According to Azerbaijani newspapers, the Neftçi management opted to transfer list three players in Mitreski, Rauf Mehdiyev and Rail Məlikov after the 4:0 loss in the first leg of their matchup against Ironi Kiryat Shmona.

Neftçi, through its official website, mentioned that the three players performed below expectations in that game and did not have the right attitude.  That led the club to take the drastic step to transfer list the players who will now seek new clubs.  The 33-year-old Mitreski is currently training with the Neftçi reserves as he awaits news on his next potential team.
