Goran Pandev and Napoli were drawn to face English side Swansea City in the Europa League Round of 32.
Pandev, the last remaining Macedonian player still alive in either the Champions League or Europa League, and his team Napoli learned their opponent during today’s draw at UEFA headquarters in Switzerland. Since Napoli finished in 3rd place of their Champions League group, they were moved over to the Europa League.
In the draw, Napoli was drawn to square off against Swansea City in the Europa League Round of 32. Swansea got to this point by finishing in 2nd place of Group A in the Europa League group stages. In that group, Swansea faced another Macedonian international in Muhamed Demiri, whose club St. Gallen finished bottom, and now they will face Pandev and Napoli in the Europa League Round of 32.
Besides the Round of 32, UEFA also held a draw for the Round of 16 as well. There, the winner of the Napoli vs. Swansea City matchup will play the winner of the pairing between Porto vs. Eintracht Frankfurt.
