Last November 18-year-old Valmir Nafiu signed a deal with Bundesliga side Hamburger SV and directly played as a starter in all games before the winter break for Hamburg’s second team in the Regionalliga Nord.

Nafiu made a good impression and was rewarded by the club with a call up for the winter preparations in Abu Dhabi. Noteworthy is that Hamburg’s manager Thorsten Fink left at home experienced players like Robert Tesche and Gojko Kačar as he wants a compact squad with the aim of performing intensive preparations, this makes Nafiu’s participation even more formidable.

The young offensive allrounder, who already has first league experience from the time he played for Shkendija, is a former member of Macedonia’s U17 and U19 national teams. His progress in Germany maybe soon leads to a call up for Macedonia’s U21 national team.
