N. Gligorov nets first goal for Khazar (Video)

Nikola Gligorov scored his first goal in a Khazar Lankaran uniform during Saturday’s road game against Rəvan.

The defensive midfielder joined Khazar from the city of Lankaran before the 2013-14 season, he was brought to the club by then manager John Toshack, and on Saturday Gligorov scored his first goal for the Azeri side in his 10th league appearance.  The goal by Gligorov came on a sliding effort from inside the area following a cross from the left.

That goal in the 12th minute gave Khazar a 0:1 lead on the road, but their opponent Rəvan then scored two unanswered goals to snatch all three points.  The game winner by Rəvan came deep into stoppage time of the 90th minute.  Gligorov played until the 81st minute when he was substituted by Tounkara Sadio, while his Macedonian teammate Dejan Blazhevski also got the start and played until the 70th minute when he made way for Mbilla Etame.

The loss kept Khazar in 7th place out of the 10 team league in Azerbaijan.
