Besides the offers by few coaches with much bigger experience and qualities, the Football Federation of Macedonia has decided to name Mirsad Jonuz as coach of the Macedonian national team.
Having to choose from Cede Janevski, Oleg Blokhin, Branko Ivanković and few other bigger coaching names, the Macedonian football federation have decided to name Mirsad Jonuz as new coach of the Macedonian national team.
Besides the underaverage, nearly awful results while leading the Macedonian U21 national team in the last six years and his limited experience with only leading Pobeda, Rabotnicki and the Macedonian U21 team, Mirsad Jonuz still got the confidence of the steering board of FFM. More then 50 days after Srečko Katanec left the coaching position, the whole Macedonian audience, football players and other coaches gave the support to the former Crvena Zvezda coach Cedomir Janevski for taking over the national team, but with the internal "calculations" of FFM's board, they have decided for the least hoped-for name.
Mirsad Jonuz will have dificult task to finish the current WC 2010 qualifications where Macedonia is placed on the 4th position with only three points after four matches played. Macedonia hosts Norway and Iceland and will travel away to Scotland and Norway in the last matches of the Group 9. His contract is till the end of the Worlc Cup 2010 qualifications with a montly wage of 5.000 Euros. His assistants are yet to be announced and also the new coach of the U21 national team.
