The Macedonian Ministry of Interior today released an update regarding the ongoing investigation of last season’s second league match between Kozhuf and Bashkimi 1947 that was suspicious for being fixed for an away win. FFM latter decided not to award points for this match.
This is what the Ministry of Interior published:
Criminal charges against 7 people for “fixing” the football match Kozhuf – Bashkimi, one person deprived of liberty.
Today (15.08.2025) police officers from the Criminal Police Department, following a previously obtained order from the Gevgelija Basic Court, searched two locations at P.Gj. from Gevgelija, sports director of FK Kozhuf from Gevgelija and after a pre-investigation procedure was conducted, and following the instructions of the Public Prosecutor’s Office Gevgelija, the OKP filed criminal charges against B.H., president of KF Bashkimi from Kumanovo for criminal offenses of “fraud” under Article 247, paragraph 6 of the Criminal Code, “unauthorized giving of gifts” under Article 253-a, paragraph 4 of the Criminal Code and “complicity” under Article 22 of the Criminal Code, against P.Gj., sports director of FK Kozhuf for criminal offenses of “fraud” under Article 247, paragraph 6 of the Criminal Code, “unauthorized receiving of gifts” under Article 253, paragraph 4 of the Criminal Code and “complicity” under Article 22 of the Criminal Code, as well as against A.J., football player of KF Bashkimi, S.G., coach of FK Kozhuf, B.K., J.P. and K.S., the three football players of FK Kozhuf for the criminal offenses of “fraud” under Art. 247, paragraph 6 and “complicity” under Art. 22 of the Criminal Code.
Namely, the first-reported B.H. in his capacity as president of KF Bashkimi, with the intention of his football club achieving a place in the First Macedonian Football League or a play-off for entry into the First Macedonian Football League, at a football match played on 06.05.2025 in Gevgelija between the teams of FK Kozhuf and KF Bashkimi, misled the Football Federation of Macedonia and the other member clubs of the federation and kept them and maintained them in misguidance by concealing facts relating to a rigged sports match or a rigged result of the sports game, by unauthorized giving gifts to the second-reported P.Gj. with the intention of neglecting the interests of FK Kozhuf and the Football Federation of Macedonia, which organized the match, in order to achieve a result that does not depend on the sports game and the rules of the sports match, in such a way that the first defendant, through the third defendant A.J., arranged a meeting and provided telephone contact from the second defendant P.Gj., at which meeting the first, second and third defendants attended, whereby the second defendant agreed to receive and did receive a gift from the first defendant – money worth 10,000 euros, for himself and other persons. P.Gj., in turn, after receiving the award, through S.G., influenced B.K., J.P. and K.S., who accepted not to show sufficient engagement in the match in accordance with their sporting abilities and the game of football, neglecting the interests of FK Kozhuf, in favor of KF Bashkimi, which resulted in a 1:2 result in favor of KF Bashkimi and with the three points thus won, KF Bashkimi was able to place in third place in the Second Macedonian Football League, which gave them the opportunity to play in the play-off for placement in the First Macedonian Football League. One of the reported persons, on the instructions of the public prosecutor, was deprived of liberty for the purpose of providing additional evidence and was taken to the Public Prosecutor’s Office Gevgelija for further proceedings.
