U21 national team coach Blagoja Milevski completed the EURO squad by adding 7 players of the younger generation.
Macedonia eventually knows all the players that will travel to Poland for the U21 EURO. Earlier today coach Blagoja Milevski completed the squad adding 7 players to the 17 previously selected. With a total of 24 players Macedonia will head to Poland where one player will have to be dropped prior to the first match as UEFA allows 23 to be on the final list.
These are the players from the next generation that left the biggest impression during the training camp:
third keeper
Filip Ilikj – Gandzasar
defenders
Aleksa Amanovikj – Javor
Jovan Popzlatanov – Pelister
midfielders
Elif Elmas – Rabotnichki
Davor Zdravkovski – Makedonija GjP
attackers
Tihomir Kostadinov – Zlaté Moravce
Petar Petkovski – Vardar
If more or less the names were expected since they were part of the qualifiers, the only surprise is Zdravkovski who has only one U21 game played so far. “Larger part of the players were already within the squad and there is no doubt that they deserved the call for the EURO. When it comes to Davor Zdravkovski, he is the kind of player that we need despite the fact that he will be the youngest in the squad together with Elmas.” – said Milevski for the official web site of the Federation.
