Midweek internationals performances

A couple of Macedonian internationals were active in midweek matches for their respective teams and here is how they did:

England, League Championship, Sheffield United – Preston North End 1:0
Velice Sumulikoski started on the bench for Preston but came on in the 59th minute replacing Paul Parry.  Preston conceded a goal in the 86th minute as they continued to struggle.  They are now 16th in the England Championship.  As a result, the manager Alan Irvine was fired on Tuesday and Irvine’s assistant Rob Kelly will be the caretaker manager whilst the search for the new permanent manager takes place.

Belgium, Jupiler League, Lokeren – Germinal Beerschot 2:0
Tome Pacovski started in goal for the visitors who surprisingly lost to Lokeren who are near the bottom of the standings.  Lokeren also played with 10 men when Mario Carevic received a red card in the 70th minute but Germinal could not take advantage and couldn’t put the ball in the back of the net.  Germinal is now 4th place in the Belgian League.  Fellow Macedonian Ertan Demiri did not play for Lokeren.

Belgium, Jupiler League, Cercle Brugge – Standard Liege 2:0
Igor Gjuzelov played all 90 minutes for the home team and received a yellow card in the 53rd minute.
