Neftçi lost 3:0 on aggregate and was eliminated from the competition.
UEFA Champions League, Second qualifying round, Shkendija – Partizan 0:1
Aleksandar Lazevski remains out with an injury for Partizan that has kept him on the sidelines for several months. UEFA Champions League, Second qualifying round, Dudelange – Maribor 1:3
Agim Ibraimi could not recover from his injury for Maribor so he missed out for the second consecutive game after also not playing during the opening week of the season this past weekend. Germany, LIGA total! Cup, Mainz 05 – Bayern München 2:2 (Bayern won 5:4 on penalties)
Nikolce Noveski played all 60 minutes for Mainz and had an active game as he scored a goal, conceded a penalty, and missed a penalty during the shootout. Noveski opened the scoring in the 11th minute by scoring on a header from a corner kick after some terrible marking by Bayern inside the area. Noveski then gave away a penalty in the 57th minute when he fouled Bayern attacker Thomas Müller inside the area which led to the referee pointing to the spot. Bayern went on to convert the penalty but the game was tied at 2:2 after 60 minutes so they went directly to penalty kicks. Keep in mind that this game was two halves of 30 minutes each and not the usual game of 90 minutes. With the penalty kicks tied at 4:4, Noveski had a chance to be the hero by taking the potential game winning penalty but his shot was saved by Manuel Neuer which extended the penalties and Bayern eventually won which allowed them to finish in third place during this tournament. Mainz finished in 4th place as they also lost the first game 1:0 against Borussia Dortmund the previous day but Noveski was rested and did not play in that match.
