Aco Stojkov with a penalty kick goal for Aarau, Vladimir Dimitrovski and Mladá Boleslav advanced to the semifinals of the Czech Cup, youngster Filip Timov played in his first competitive match for Koper, while Goran Pandev and Inter recorded a narrow road victory in the first leg of their semifinals matchup against Roma in the Coppa Italia.
Italy, Coppa Italia, Roma – Inter 0:1
Goran Pandev started for Inter and played until the 82nd minute when he was replaced by Joel Obi. Pandev played on the left wing with regular starter Samuel Eto’o nursing an injury and being forced to miss this game. Pandev made a good run in the 16th minute before he sent a dangerous cross from the left but a Roma defender cleared the danger and headed the ball for a corner. Two minutes later, Pandev won a free kick from a dangerous position but Wesley Sneijder’s free kick struck the Roma wall and it redirected for another corner for Inter. Pandev should have done better in the 53rd minute when he received a good cross in the box from Dejan Stanković but Pandev attempted a weak header and wasted a good opportunity. Pandev lost his effectiveness as the game went on so he was therefore substituted in the 82nd minute as Inter scored the only goal of the game in the 45th minute thanks to a wonder goal by Dejan Stanković.
Ukraine, Premyer-Liha, Dynamo Kyiv – Zorya 2:0
Goran Popov played the entire game for Dynamo Kyiv and was pretty active as he attempted a number of shots from distance and came close on two occasions but the visiting keeper was alert and saved both of his chances. The first chance for Popov came in the 11th minute when he unleashed a missile from about 25 meters but the keeper didn’t take any chances in catching the venomous shot so he just punched the ball and it went for a corner. The second good chance for Popov came in the 57th minute but his header following a corner kick from the left was saved nicely by the Zorya keeper and it went for another corner.
Russia, Perviy Divizion, Alania – Sibir 1:1
Velice Sumulikoski started in central midfield for Sibir and played all 90 minutes in a matchup of the two teams that got relegated from the Russian Premier League last season. Both teams scored their goals from penalty kicks with Alania taking the lead in the 3rd minute before Sibir equalized in the 45th minute.
Russia, Perviy Divizion, Torpedo Moskva – Shinnik 1:0
Artim Polozani started for Torpedo Moskva and played until the 54th minute when he was replaced by Aleksei Vasilyev. Polozani displayed good skill in the 12th minute when he dribbled past a couple of opposing players before he fired a dangerous shot from distance which was saved by the visiting keeper.
Austria, ÖFB-Cup, Rapid Wien – Mattersburg 2:0
Ilco Naumoski did not play for Mattersburg because he is still sick. He was initially listed as questionable for this game but he was unable to recover in time so he missed his second consecutive game for Mattersburg.
Cyprus, Cyprus Coca Cola Cup, Omonia – Ethnikos Achnas 1:0
Edin Nuredinoski played from the start for Ethnikos Achnas and conceded one goal in the 44th minute, Vance Sikov started at CB and played the entire game, Stojan Ignjatov also got the start and played until the 83rd minute when he was replaced by Petros Filaniotis, while Filip Ivanovski started on the bench before he entered the game in the 90th minute replacing Gelson. The return leg will be played on 4 May 2011 to see which team will advance to the Cypriot Cupfinal.
Switzerland, Axpo Super League, Luzern – Thun 0:1
Muhamed Demiri started in defensive midfield for Thun in a 4-2-3-1 formation and played all 90 minutes as his team picked up a narrow victory away to Luzern.
Switzerland, Challenge League, Aarau – Lausanne 2:1
Aleksandar Mitreski played the entire game for Aarau while his teammate Aco Stojkov also got the start and played until the 90th minute when he was replaced by Dejan Jakovljević. Stojkov opened the scoring in the 67th minute from a penalty after his teammate David Marazziwas fouled in the box by Lausanne defender Jérôme Sonnerat. Stojkov also came close in the 34th minute but his shot from 20 meters hit the crossbar while Mitreski picked up a yellow card in the 81st minute.
Denmark, Superliga, Lyngby – København 1:2
Bajram Fetai started on the bench for Lyngby before he entered the game in the 63rd minute replacing Uffe Manich Bech.
Serbia, Jelen SuperLiga, Smederevo – Partizan 1:4
Aleksandar Lazevski was not among the 18 players called up by Partizan as the manager decided to rest many key players including Lazevski so they can be ready for the huge game this Saturday against heated rivals Crvena Zvezda. The two teams are tied at the top of the table with 59 points each so this will be an important game that could decide the title race in Serbia.
Serbia, Jelen SuperLiga, Vojvodina – Hajduk Kula 2:1
Daniel Mojsov played all 90 minutes for Vojvodina and threatened in the 20th minute from a long range free kick but his powerful shot went just wide of the goal. Vojvodina has won all eight league games in the 2nd half of the season following the lengthy winter break and they continue to have the best defense in Serbia as they have only conceded nine goals after 23 games.

Dragan Stojkov started for Jagodina and played until the 78th minute when he was replaced by Predrag Đorđević.

Stefan Spirovski started on the bench for Borac Čačak before he entered the game in the 76th minute replacing Dušan Petronijević while Aleksandar Todorovski continues to be left out by Rad for refusing to sign a contract extension.

Vladimir Dimitrovski played the entire game for Mladá Boleslav and had an early chance in the 3rd minute but his header from a dangerous position went over the goal. Mladá Boleslav advanced to the semifinals of the Czech Cup by winning 4:2 on aggregate over the two games and their opponent in the next round will be Kroměříž.

Vladica Brdarovski was not called up by Zbrojovka Brno because of a minor injury. With the loss, Zbrojovka Brno was eliminated from the Czech Cup by losing 3:1 on aggregate over the two games.

Ilija Nestorovski started on the bench for Slovácko before he entered the game in the 77th minute replacing Jiří Valenta.

Dusan Savić started for Pakhtakor and played until the 89th minute when he was replaced by Akmal Kholmurodov. Savić played a part in the first goal for Pakhtakor in the 28th minute when his cross from the right reached Stanislav Andreev whose first volley was blocked but it took a good deflection and it fell for Andreev again who scored a very good goal with a shot to the top right corner.

Daniel Ivanovski started at CB for Mjällby and played until the 90th minute when he picked up his second yellow card of the game and was sent off by the referee. Ivanovski received his first yellow card in the 34th minute as his side suffered a narrow road loss against the defending champions in Sweden.
