Goran Pandev played the entire game for Inter as the game was tied at 0:0 after 90 minutes so it went into extra time where neither team could score so it went into penalty kicks. Pandev converted his penalty and Inter advanced to the next round of the Coppa Italia by winning 5:4 on penalties as Napoli attacker Ezequiel Lavezzi was the only player to miss a penalty during the penalty shootout.
