Italy, Serie A, Inter – Napoli 3:1
Goran Pandev started for Inter and played until the 83rd minute when he was replaced by Jonathan Biabiany. Pandev provided the assist on the third goal by Inter in the 55th minute when his well taken corner reached Thiago Motta whose powerful header went past the Napoli’s keeper Morgan De Sanctis to the back of the net. Pandev also played a part in the first goal by Inter in the 3rd minute when he made a pass from the right to Motta who couldn’t control the ball cleanly but the ball found Dejan Stanković who passed the ball back to Motta who scored a very good goal to give Inter an early lead and they never looked back as they won their first game under new manager Leonardo. Pandev’s best chance to score came in the 65th minute but his volley following a cross by Diego Milito was just wide of goal.
International tournament, Antalya Cup, Eintracht Frankfurt – Persepolis FC Teheran 1:1 (Eintracht advanced 4:2 on penalties)
Aleksandar Vasoski played the 1st half for Eintracht Frankfurt while his teammate Oka Nikolov remains out with an injury. This was almost like a friendly and although Eintracht led 1:0 at halftime, manager Michael Skibbe decided to bring on a completely new team in the 2nd half. The opposing team from Iran equalized in the 86th minute so it went into penalties where Eintracht prevailed 4:2. With the win, Eintracht advanced to the final of the Antalya Cup where they will face fellow German team Köln who defeated Antalyaspor in the other game of this tournament.
Greece, Superleague Greece, Skoda Xanthi – Panathinaikos 0:2
Marjan Altiparmakovski started on the bench for Skoda Xanthi before he entered the game in the 75th minute replacing Mauro Poy. This was his debut for his new team and it was actually the first time he was called up for a game after joining Skoda Xanthi in the summer of 2010 from Macedonian club Pelister.
