Midweek internationals performances‏

Armend Alimi (L) on the match against CibaliaGoran Popov returned from his injury for Dynamo Kyiv but he also picked up a red card, Goran Pandev’s goal drought continues as he now hasn’t scored a goal in 21 consecutive Serie A games, Zoran Baldovaliev scored 2 goals for Ironi Kiryat Shmona in the Israeli Cup, while Armend Alimi and Filip Ivanovski each scored a goal for their respective teams in domestic cup matches.

Italy, Serie A, Lecce – Inter 1:1
Goran Pandev started for Inter and played the entire 1st half before he was substituted at the beginning of the 2nd half by Diego Milito.  In the 12th minute, Cristian Chivu played a good long ball to Jonathan Biabiany who made a low cross to Pandev who shockingly missed from close range as his shot was straight at the Lecce keeper.  Pandev played in his 27th Serie A game for Inter and he only has three goals and all three goals came within his first 6 Serie A games for Inter which means he has not scored in 21 consecutive Serie A games.  Pandev also has no Champions League goals for Inter and and his only other goal for Inter besides his first three quick Serie A goals was against Roma in the Supercoppa earlier this year.Pandev grimaces after missed a good opportunity to score

Ukraine, DATAGROUP − Football Ukraine Cup, Stal – Dynamo Kyiv 2:3
Goran Popov returned from his injury for Dynamo Kyiv and got the start but his night ended early as he picked up a red card in the 66th minute.  Popov committed a bad foul against Burnel Okana-Stazi and then he talked to the referee who showed him a straight red card.  Dynamo was leading 3:1 when Popov was sent off but they were able to hang on for a 3:2 victory.  Popov had a chance in the 39th minute when he received a pass from Brazilian André and he unleashed a powerful shot from distance that bounced of the leg of his teammate Roman Zozulya but the redirected shot whistled just wide the post.

Austria, ÖFB-Cup, BW Linz – Mattersburg 0:1

Ilco Naumoski was an unused substitute for Mattersburg who advanced to the next round of the Austrian Cup with the win over BW Linz.


Cyprus, Cyprus Coca Cola Cup, Nea Salamis – Ethnikos Achnas 0:2
Edin Nuredinoski played the entire game for Ethnikos Achnas and kept a clean sheet, Filip Ivanovski also got the start and played all 90 minutes as he opened the scoring in the 7th minute, Stojan Ignjatov was an unused substitute, while Vance Sikov did not play because of a minor injury.

Cyprus, Cyprus Coca Cola Cup, Omonia Aradippou – Enosis Neon Paralimni 0:3
Petar Milosevski did not travel with Enosis Neon Paralimni as he was given a rest by manager Cedomir Janevski while his teammates Bojan Markoski and Krste Velkoski played from the start.

Serbia, Lav Kup Srbije, Sinđelić – Partizan 0:4
Aleksandar Lazevski was rested by Partizan and therefore he wasn’t called up as his team picked up a convincing victory away to Sinđelić in Niš.

Serbia, Lav Kup Srbije, Vojvodina – Jagodina 1:0
Daniel Mojsov played the entire game for Vojvodina and also picked up a yellow card in the 90th minute while Mario Gjurovski did not play.  Mojsov almost gave his team the lead in the 71st minute with an absolute missile from about 30 meters but his well taken free kick was saved nicely by the Jagodina keeper and it went for a corner.  Vojvodina finally broke the deadlock in the 89th minute when Aboubakar Oumarou scored to make it 1:0 and that’s how it finished as well.

Serbia, Lav Kup Srbije, Crvena Zvezda – Teleoptik 2:1
Stefan Askovski played from the start for Teleoptik.

Croatia, Hrvatski Nogometni Kup, Istra 1961 – Cibalia 2:3
Armend Alimi played all 90 minutes for Istra 1961 and scored a goal in the 88th minute to make the score 2:3 but his team could not get the equalizer and they suffered a narrow defeat.

Czech Republic, Pohár ČMFS, Mladá Boleslav – Baník Sokolov 3:0  (Mladá Boleslav advanced 6:5 on penalties)
Both Vladimir Dimitrovski and Goce Toleski did not play for Mladá Boleslav.  This was the return leg and Mladá Boleslav had the 3:0 lead after 90 minutes so it went into extra time as Baník Sokolov won the first leg 3:0.  Neither team could score a goal in the 30 minutes of extra time so it went into penalties where Mladá Boleslav won 6:5 so they advanced to the next round of the Czech Cup.

Netherlands, KNVB Beker, Heerenveen – NAC Breda 0:2

Samir Fazli was not called up by Heerenveen who were eliminated from the Dutch Cup with the loss to NAC Breda.

Netherlands, KNVB Beker, Go Ahead Eagles – Roda 0:2
None of the three Macedonians, Yani Urdinov, Aleksandar Stankov, and Antonio Stankov, played for Roda who advanced to the next round of the Dutch Cup with the win away to Go Ahead Eagles.

Romania, Cupa României, Dinamo Bucureşti – Universitatea Craiova 1:1  (Dinamo Bucureşti advanced 3:1 on penalties)
Kristijan Naumovski was an unused substitute for Dinamo Bucureşti as he was the #2 keeper behind Emilian Dolha.

Israel, Toto Cup, Hapoel Akko – Ironi Kiryat Shmona 3:3
Zoran Baldovaliev played all 90 minutes for Ironi Kiryat Shmona and scored two goals in the 16th and 31st minute.

Bulgaria, A PFG, Pirin – CSKA Sofia 0:1

Zoran Zlatkovski started on the bench for Pirin before he entered the game in the 70th minute replacing Aleksandar Yakimov.

Hungary, Magyar Kupa, Debrecen – Kecskeméti TE 0:3
Mirsad Mijadinoski did not play for Debrecen as he was given a rest.

Australia, Hyundai A-League, Adelaide United – Perth Glory 2:0
Aleks Vrteski was an unused substitute for Perth Glory as he was the #2 keeper behind Tando Velaphi.
