Aleksandar Lazevski played the entire game for Partizan who started lively in the first ten minutes before they lost concentration at the back and conceded a goal in the 15th minute to Andrey Arshavin. Partizan equalized in the 33rd minute on a penalty by Cléo after Denílson used his hand in the box following a cross by Radosav Petrović. In the 56th minute, Partizan were down to ten men after Marko Jovanović was given a straight red card for committing a foul from behind in the penalty box on Marouane Chamakh. Arshavin took the penalty but Partizan keeper Stojković guessed right and saved the penalty. Arsenal used the one man advantage in the 71st minute when Chamakh scored on a rebound after his initial header bounced off the post and Arsenal put the game away in the 82nd minute when Sébastien Squillaci scored on a header from a corner kick taken by Samir Nasri.

Goran Popov returned from his injury for Dynamo Kyiv and started this game on the bench before he came on at the start of the 2nd half replacing Badr El Kaddouri. Both goals by Sheriff were scored in the 1st half.

Darko Tasevski played the entire game for Levski who suffered a heavy defeat away to Sporting.

Mirsad Mijadinoski played all 90 minutes for Debrecen and also received a yellow card in the 18th minute for arguing with the referee after he awarded Sampdoria with a questionable penalty. The penalty was converted by Giampaolo Pazzini and that ended up being the only goal of the game.

Aco Stojkov played the entire game for Aarau and scored one goal in the 57th minute. Aarau had a chance in the 39th minute but Marco Aratore made an inaccurate pass to Stojkov and Aarau wasted a good chance. Then three minutes later, Stojkov found Aratore whose shot was saved by the Vaduz keeper. Marco Aratore made amends for his earlier mistake by assisting Stojkov in the 57th minute who controlled the ball nicely and scored to give his team a 2:1 lead. Stojkov had a chance to put the game away in the 70th minute after a great pass by Sandro Burki but he missed and the score remained 2:1. Vaduz made Aarau pay in the 76th minute when they tied the game at 2:2 and a minute later, Vaduz took the lead as Aarau lost concentration at the back.
