There was a mixed record for the teams that featured Macedonian players in the Champions League and Europa league qualifications.
UEFA Champions League, Second Qualifying Round, Fola Esch – Dinamo Zagreb 0:3
Arijan Ademi started in defensive midfield for Dinamo Zagreb and played the whole match. Dinamo Zagreb bounced back from the subpar 1:1 draw in the first leg to win convincingly on the road. The Croatian club will next face Molde (Norway) in the Champions League.
UEFA Champions League, Second Qualifying Round, Astana – Maribor 3:1
Agim Ibraimi played all 90 minutes for Maribor who lost 3:2 on aggregate to exit the competition. Ibraimi provided the assist on the lone Maribor goal in the 40th minute when his cross led Aleksander Rajčević to score from close range. Ibraimi also had a late chance in the 88th minute, but his long range shot was pushed away by the Astana keeper for a corner.

UEFA Champions League, Second Qualifying Round, Videoton – The New Saints 1:1
Mirko Ivanovski got the start for Videoton and played until the 57th minute when he was substituted by István Kovács. Ivanovski had two opportunities in the 38th and 40th minute, but both of his attempts were saved. In the 38th minute, Mirko’s powerful shot was saved, while his header in the 40th minute lacked power to trouble the opposing keeper. Videoton won 2:1 on aggregate to set up a matchup against BATE Borisov.
UEFA Champions League, Second Qualifying Round, Lech Poznań – Sarajevo 1:0
Krste Velkoski opened on the bench for Sarajevo before he was introduced in the 53rd minute to replace Haris Duljevic. Velkoski came close to scoring in the 84th minute, but the Lech Poznań made a good save to deny him. Sarajevo was eliminated from the Champions League by losing 3:0 on aggregate.
UEFA Champions League, Second Qualifying Round, Vardar – APOEL 1:1
Valmir Nafiu was not summoned in the APOEL squad as he also didn’t travel with the club to Skopje. Nafiu doesn’t appear to be in the plans of manager Domingos Paciência. The coach that brought him to APOEL, Thorsten Fink, is now at Austria Wien.
UEFA Europa League, Second Qualifying Round, Aberdeen – Rijeka 2:2
Stefan Ristovski was given his second consecutive start at right-back and played the full encounter. After losing the first leg 3:0, Rijeka made it interesting by leading 2:0 after 63 minutes in the return leg. However, Aberdeen would score two goals to tie the game and send Rijeka packing from the Europa League.
Sweden, Allsvenskan, Häcken – Hammarby 3:3
Leonard Zuta played all 90 minutes for Häcken in this high scoring draw against Hammarby. Zuta, usually a left-back, was fielded in central defense to cover for an injury at the position.
Thailand, Toyota League Cup, Bangkok Glass – Buriram 0:0 (Buriram won 4:2 on penalties)
Darko Tasevski started in attacking midfield for Bangkok Glass and played the complete match. It was 0:0 after 120 minutes (included 30 minutes of extra time), so the winner was decided on penalties. Darko Tasevski took the first penalty for Bangkok Glass, but his effort was saved. Eventually, Buriram progressed 4:2 in the penalty shootout to eliminated Bangkok Glass from the FA Cup.
South Korea, FA Cup, Jeonnam – Ulsan Mipo 1:0
Stevica Ristic played from the start for Jeonnam as his team reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup with the narrow win over Ulsan Mipo.
