Midweek internationals performances

It was a quiet midweek period as only seven games featured Macedonian footballers from Monday to Thursday.  Here’s a recap of their performances:

UEFA Europa League, Round of 32, Napoli – Swansea City 3:1
Goran Pandev got the start for Napoli and played until the 60th minute when he was substituted by Marek Hamšík.  Pandev twice created chances for his teammate Gonzalo Higuaín in the 15th and 20th minute, but Higuaín shot wide on both occasions.  Napoli won 3:1 on aggregate over the two games to advance to the next round of the competition.

Italy, Serie A, Napoli – Genoa 1:1
Goran Pandev opened the match on the bench for Napoli before he made a late appearance in the 86th minute to replace Dries Mertens.

Romania, Liga I Bergenbier, Concordia – Steaua București 1:4
Neither Daniel Georgievski nor Martin Bogatinov were included in the matchday squad for Steaua București.

Georgia, Umaglesi Liga, Dinamo Tbilisi – Sioni Bolnisi 1:2
Darko Glishikj was an unused substitute for Dinamo Tbilisi.

Cyprus, First Division Championship, Nea Salamis – Ermis 4:1
Armend Alimi played the entire game for Ermis in the heavy road loss against Nea Salamis.  Alimi also received a yellow card in the 43rd minute.

Bulgaria, A Group, Chernomorets – CSKA Sofia 1:2
Aleksandar Damchevski started on the bench for Chernomorets before he entered the game in the 35th minute replacing the injured Yani Pehlivanov.  Chernomorets suffered a tough loss by conceding the game winning goal in the 90th minute.

Greece, Football League, Aiginiakos – Kerkyra 1:0
Zoran Baldovaliev played all 90 minutes for Kerkyra in the slim road defeat against Aiginiakos.
