Due to several players nursing injuries and lack of games affecting Macedonian internationals, the midweek period was pretty quiet. Here is a recap of the games involving Macedonian players:
UEFA Europa League, Group F, AIK – Napoli 1:2
Goran Pandev remained out with an injury for Napoli. This win ensured that Napoli would finish in the top two of their group, thus guaranteeing a place in the next phase of the Europa League.
UEFA Europa League, Group D, Club Brugge – Bordeaux 1:2
Ivan Trichkovski was not included in the Club Brugge squad due to an injury. Despite there being one more matchday, Club Brugge was eliminated from the competition with this loss as they can’t catch Bordeaux and Newcastle United, the two teams progressing from Group D.
UEFA Europa League, Group J, Panathinaikos – Maribor 1:0
Agim Ibraimi played all 90 minutes for Maribor who dropped to bottom of Group J with the loss to Panathinaikos. The only goal of the match was scored in the 67th minute from a converted penalty kick by the home side.
UEFA Europa League, Group E, Steaua București – Stuttgart 1:5
Daniel Georgievski did not play for Steaua București due to an injury.
UEFA Europa League, Group I, Ironi Kiryat Shmona – Athletic Bilbao
Match was postponed by UEFA due to security reasons, so Darko Tasevski did not get a chance to play for Ironi Kiryat Shmona.
UEFA Europa League, Group H, Neftçi – Partizan 1:1
Aleksandar Lazevski was an unused substitute for Partizan while his teammate Stefan Ashkovski was not included in the 18 player squad. As for Neftçi, Igor Mitreski played the entire game at CB as both clubs have already been eliminated from the Europa League.
Romania, Liga I Bergenbier, Rapid București – Gaz Metan Mediaș 2:1
Bazhe Ilijoski started for Rapid București in attack and played until the 38th minute when he was replaced by Cristian Oros. Ilijoski had a good chance in the 14th minute but his effort from close range was saved by the visiting keeper.
Romania, Liga I Bergenbier, Pandurii – Concordia 2:1
Egzon Belica played all 90 minutes for Concordia in the narrow defeat away to Pandurii.
Serbia, Lav Kup Srbije, Spartak Zlatibor Voda – Vojvodina 1:1 (Vojvodina advanced 5:3 on penalties)
Daniel Mojsov continues to be left out of the Vojvodina squad due to a contract dispute, while Fahrudin Gjurgjevic also did not play for his team in Spartak Zlatibor Voda.
Serbia, Lav Kup Srbije, Rad – Jagodina 0:1
Dragan Stojkov played the entire game for Jagodina and also received a yellow card in the 70th minute, while Goran Bogdanovic was not called up by Rad. With the narrow win, Jagodina reached the semi-finals of the Serbian Cup.
Serbia, Lav Kup Srbije, Borac Čačak – Javor 0:0 (Javor advanced 5:4 on penalties)
Nikola Jakimovski did not play for Javor. According to newspaper reports out of Serbia, Javor has reached an agreement with Japanese side Nagoya Grampus about the transfer of Jakimovski. The move should become official during the re-opening of the transfer window in January with the newspapers reporting that Jakimovski will likely just train with Javor until that point so he doesn’t risk an injury.
South Korea, K-League (Championship Group), Gyeongnam – Suwon 0:0
Stevica Ristic got the start for Suwon and played until the 76th minute when he was substituted by Cho Dong-Geon.
Greece, Football League, Pierikos – Kalloni 1:1
Filip Despotovski did not play for Pierikos due to a red card suspension.
Armenia, Premier League, Impuls – Gandzasar 3:0
Filip Timov played all 90 minutes for Impuls in the comfortable home victory over Gandzasar.
