Borce Manevski, Rabotnicki’s player, has been voted best player of first half season 2010/11 by Macedonian football fans.
As it is already known, MacedonianFootball.com organized a poll where Macedonian football fans had the opportunity to vote for their best player from the Macedonian championship, first half season 2010/11. Out of the previously 3 nominated players by the forum members, Rabotnicki’s Borce Manevski, Mile Krstev from Metalurg and Ferhan Hasani from Shkendija, the fans chose Borce Manevski as the best player of the first half season. He collected 204 votes, while Krstev had 100 and Hasani 74.
For this occasion, MacedonianFootball.com met with Manevski and besides giving him his award, we had a nice conversation with him on many topics.
BM: I would first like to thank MacedonianFootball for this. I am really happy for this and it came as a nice award for my recent play. Also, I am sending a big thanks to all the fans who gave their vote for me. I am really flattered.
Borce Manevski simply exploded this half-season and played some amazing matches in Rabotnicki’s shirt. He has scored 9 goals on 12 matches, thus being second goalscorer in Macedonian First League so far.
BM: I am really having a great time currently and I play in an excellent form. Rabotnicki as a club really suits me and the atmosphere in the team is as it should be. Rabotnicki is a professional club, I have super teammates and these nice performances are no wonder to me.
Besides Rabotnicki, 25-years-old Manevski has played for several other clubs and has an international career as well. Upon starting his career in Pelister, he transferred to Pobeda and then moved to Poland where he played for Górnik Łęczna. After spending 2 years in Poland, he returned to Pobeda and later played for Milano from Kumanovo. His last foreign club was Serbian team Banat and now he is in Rabotnicki. Lot of experience, lots of clubs, lots of goals.
BM: Obviously, playing in Poland was an amazing experience for me. I had beautiful time and improved my play a lot. I carry a lot of good memories from my time in Poland. But, each club brings its own unique time and everywhere I played I tried to learn new things and focused on improving my gameplay.
Rabotnicki are currently third on the table, three points behind table leaders Shkendija. What are the club’s ambitions?
BM: We are going for the title. Besides the new coach Vlatko Kostov, the club has also brought many new and strong players and we will give everything to win the title. The club is currently in preparations and we are soon going to Antalya which will really help us for the tough spring matches that expect us. But, I think we have good chances for celebrating in May.
Recently, you have been called up to the national team. This was not your first appearance. Besides playing for the youth national teams, you have also been selected for Macedonia earlier in your career.
BM: My recent fine form was awarded with the most honorable thing for me – call for the Macedonian national team. I will be looking to continue my good plays and hope to earn new calls in the future. And, yes – I have also been part of Macedonian national team in 2005, on the LG tournament in Iran, so the match against China was my third.
Borce Manevski has contract with Rabotnicki until June 2012. Any plans possibly?
BM: I am committed to my work in Rabotnicki. I am having good matches and good performances. Such games should lead to interest from other clubs. But, I am remaining fully focused on my current plays. If a precise offer from abroad arrives, I am willing to consider it, but the offer has to be fine not just with me, but with my current club as well.
25-years-old Manevski absolutely deservedly won this award. Macedonian football fans on Facebook voted for him in a big number and he collected more votes then Krstev and Hasani together. The attacking midfielder showed really good matches in Rabotnicki and his performances did not go unnoticed. Despite this recognition, he also got a call from Mirsad Jonuz for Macedonian national team, a thing which he finds particularly satisfying. Manevski is an excellent example who is showing there are very good players in the domestic championship as well and considering he is in the beginning of his best football years – we are surely to be watching him at the top of his play for a long time in the future. In addition, highlights of Borce Manevski – enjoy!
