Makedonija GjP wins Macedonian league

 Makedonija Gjorce Petrov have won the Macedonian First League title for the 2008/09 season. After Renova's draw away to Vardar, Makedonija celebrated the title with the win against Rabotnicki on three rounds before the end of the season.

Makedonija GjP had seven points lead in front of Renova before the match and were on a step before securing the title. After 85 minutes, Mirko Ivanovski was Makedonija's hero who scored the only goal on this match and brought the first league title for his club.
This year's cup finalists met in the 30th round which gave us the answer about the new Macedonian champion. Both clubs didn't wanted to put much risk on the field and played cautious, especially in the first half. The first excitement happened in the 16th minute when the Brazilian striker Wandeir sent a shot from 30 meters, but Pavlovic managed to block it in corner. Two minutes later, Savic with a low cross from the right side found Wandeir in the box, but he missed the goal. The only real chance for Makedonija happened in the 44th minute when De Brito could have scored with a header after Mitrev's cross, but Georgievski made a good save.
Savic had two chances to score for Rabotnicki in the second half. In the 62nd minute he dribbled and entered the box from the left side, but shot next to the bar. In the 71st minute Wandeir passed the ball to Savic in the box who shot over the goal. Young Nastevski had a chance to score for Makedonija in the 79th minute when he went out alone with the goalkeeper after one long ball sent to him, but Georgievski blocked his strike. In a similar situation in the 85th minute, Mirko Ivanovski came alone in front of Georgievski, but this time he was more succesfull and scored for Makedonija's lead. Wandeir in the 87th and Bojovic in the 90th minute failed to score from their chances and the match ended with 0:1 win for Makedonija with which they won their first league title. 

Pelister Bitola – Napredok Kicevo 3:1 (2:1)

Very important win for Pelister after which they have avoided the relegation and sent Napredok in the second league. But the things didn't went so good for the hosts in the beginning of the match. After only 20 minutes Pelister were left with ten players when Ristevski was sent-off because of the foul in the box over Askov. A penalty was also rewarded for Pelister and Blagoj Levkov converted it in Napredok's lead. But this goal gave big motivational boost for Pelister's players who outplayed Napredok even with a player less later in the match. Only a minute after they kicked-off, Rutevski sent a cross in the box where Blagojce Glavevski managed to equalize with a header. Five minutes later, another great cross by Rutevski and this time Serbian striker Đuro Jandrić scored with a header for Pelister's lead.
Pelister didn't stop there and in the 49th minute a long ball was sent towards Napredok's box where Dragan Dimitrovski received it and scored for 3:1. After the third goal, Pelister pulled back and played more cautious in order to controll their lead. Napredok failed to use their player's advantage and left Bitola with empty hands and a ticket for the second league.

Milano Kumanovo – Sileks Kratovo 3:2 (2:0)

Interesting match with five scored goals was played in Kumanovo. With the win today, Milano took over the second place because of better goal deference then Renova.
Ivica Gligorovski was Milano's hero today. He scored a hattrick and with 15 goals he is close to win the title for the best league scorer for this season. Alimi assisted Gligorovski for scoring the first two goals, while the third goal was scored from a penalty kick. Sileks made big effort in the last 30 minutes, but Boško Stupić scored only two goals which was not enough for making a suprise on the "Milano arena" in Kumanovo.

Vardar Skopje – Renova Dzepciste 0:0 (0:0)
The opening match of the 30th round that was played a day earlier then the other matches could have brought much bigger excitement in the top part of the Macedonian first league, but with the scoreless draw went in favor for leaders Makedonija.
The scorers had a day for rest in Skopje as they missed to score from the few chances on both sides. With the draw, Vardar almost lost their chances for winning the 3rd position and a place for an European competition next year, while Renova allowed Makedonija to secure their title by defeating Rabotnicki.
