Round 9

Macedonian Second League – Round 9

Round 9Miravci moves to the top of the table after a 4:1 thumping of Belasica, Skopje was held to a draw against Treska, while both Tikves and Pelister noted bad losses on the road.

Both Tikves and Pelister were visitors in Skopje today.  Tikves was easily beaten by Gorno Lisice 4:1 while Pelister suffered a disappointing 2:0 loss against Lokomotiva.  Drita took advantage of those results and with today’s 5:1 win over Korab, they tied Tikves and Pelister for second place on the table with 16 points.

The race at the top of the table remains close as no team has been able to put separation over their competitors.  Treska and Skopje shared the points in a 1:1 draw today and that made the standings even closer.  Miravci, the current leaders, have 19 points but they only have a three point advantage over four second placed teams (Pelister, Tikves, Treska, and Drita) who have 16 points apiece.  However, FK Skopje will soon move to second place with 17 points as they will likely be awarded three points for their recent game in which Lokomotiva players left the pitch while Skopje was leading 1:0.  That result has still not been counted but FFM should made a ruling in the near future and the expectation is that Skopje will be given the automatic three points.

Meanwhile, the misery continues for Strumica based club Belasica who remains without a win after a heavy 4:1 loss against Miravci.  In the other games, Vlazrimi played a 1:1 draw against Pobeda Junior, Ohrid Lote won an important three points over Osogovo to briefly get out of the relegation zone, while Rufeja suffered a narrow 1:0 defeat away to Gostivar.

Vlazrimi – Pobeda Junior 1:1

Lokomotiva – Pelister 2:0

Treska – Skopje 1:1

Ohrid Lote – Osogovo 4:2

Gorno Lisice – Tikves 4:1

Miravci – Belasica 4:1

Gostivar – Rufeja 1:0

Drita – Korab 5:1
