Italy, Serie A, Inter – Bologna 3:0
Goran Pandev started for Inter in a very attacking minded 4-3-3 formation.  Pandev was active early on and displayed his vision with some nice passing but faded as the game went on as he seemed tired.  Pandev had a chance in the 19th minute but his shot was saved by the Bologna keeper.  Pandev then took a free kick in the 55th minute that was way over the goal.  He was substituted in the 69th minute when Wesley Sneijder took his place.  This was the 10th consecutive Serie A game where Pandev hasn’t scored a goal.  Next up for Inter is the return leg against CSKA Moskva on Tuesday.

Germany, 1. Bundesliga, Nürnberg – Mainz 2:0
Nikolce Noveski and Mainz had to play with 10 men for the majority of the game after Andreas Ivanschitz received a red card in the 4th minute.  This had a big impact in the game as the home team dominated possession and controlled the game.  Noveski had the best chance for Mainz in the 1st minute when he received a good cross but his header was saved.
