Macedonian internationals performances

A lot of Macedonian internationals actually are not active because of winter breaks, nevertheless some guys were in action during this past weekend. Due to the smaller selection we also inserted the debut of Darko Micevski and Jasmin Mecinovikj in Lebanon, what is a rather exotic destination for footballers. Both players immediately found themselves in the starting line up.

Belgium, Proximus League, Cercle – OH Leuven 1:0
Jovan Kostovski wasn’t called up by Leuven for this encounter.

Cyprus, Protáthlima Cyta, Anorthosis – AEK 3:1
Daniel Mojsov played all minutes in central defense for AEK as his team suffered a loss away to Anorthosis. Mojsov’s teammate Ivan Trichkovski didn’t play due to injury.

Cyprus, Protáthlima Cyta, AEL – Ethnikos 3:0
Midfielder Davor Zdravkovski made a rare appearance for AEL when he was introduced in the 78th minute, while Martin Bogatinov as usual was the starting goalie for Ethnikos and conceded three goals in the away loss. Meanwhile, Martin’s teammate Mite Cikarski wasn’t part of his teams matchday squad.

Cyprus, Protáthlima Cyta, Aris – Doxa 1:0
Big win for Aris in the duel against Doxa. Both Macedonian internationals, Edin Nuredinoski and Vlatko Drobarov, played the entire game and were part of a defense that kept a clean sheet. In the 82nd minute Edin made a great save in a handball keeper style.

Edin’s great save:

Cyprus, Protáthlima Cyta, Ermis – Paphos 2:0
Aleksandar Damchevski didn’t make Ermis’ matchday squad.

England, FA Cup, Newport County – Leeds United 2:1
Ezgjan Alioski was rested, thus he wasn’t part of the visitors squad. His team Leeds was kicked out of the FA Cup as they lost on the road against Newport County from the English fourth tier (League Two).

Israel, Ligat Winner, Hapoel Haifa – Beitar 0:2
Risto Mitrevski wasn’t part Hapoel’s squad. He recently signed a deal with Hapoel, so he could make his debut in the upcoming weeks.

Italy, Serie A, Genoa – Sassuolo 1:0
Goran Pandev started for Genoa but this played only until the 56th minute when Bulgarian international Andrey Galabinov took his place. He would later on score the winner. Pandev could have had one assist as in the 23rd minute when he served Gianluca Ladapula who managed to miss the target.

Lebanon, Championnat, Al Shabab Al Arabi – Nejmeh 1:4
Both newcomers Jasmin Mecinovikj and Darko Micevski debuted for Nejmeh by playing the whole match. Their new team recorded an easy road win and kept the pace with holders Al Ahed who are topping the table with a point more.

Portugal, Liga NOS, Sporting – Marítimo 5:0
Stefan Ristovski began at right-back for Sporting and was part of a defense that kept a clean sheet. Stefan’s team started with just one goal in the first half, but netted four more in the second to demolish Marítimo in the home encounter. Ristovski had two great crosses, unfortunately his teammates didn’t score from that chances.

Spain, Primera División, Barcelona – Levante 3:0
Enis Bardhi wasn’t part Levante’s squad for this famous road game as he had to serve a yellow card suspension.

Spain, Segunda División, Rayo Vallecano – Gimnàstic 2:3
Stole Dimitrievski was Nàstic’s starting goalkeeper and he conceded two goals in their away win. The second goal was from the penalty kick. Dimitrievski also received a yellow card at 83rd minute of the game.
