Macedonian internationals performances

Most leagues are already in the winter break, thus not a lot of players from Macedonia were active during the past weekend. Nevertheless, Aleksandar Trajkovski and Adis Jahovikj scored one goal apiece for their respective teams.

Keep in mind that because of the catholic Christmas, many league moved their games from Wednesday to Saturday.

Albania, Kategoria Superiore, Kamza – Flamurtari 0:3
Demir Imeri played the second half for Kamza as he was introduced directly after the half-time break, while Artim Polozhani, Goran Siljanovski and Muhamed Useini made the start for the visitors and all of them played until the end. Eventually, Flamurtari gained a comfortable win on the road.

Albania, Kategoria Superiore, Skënderbeu – Teuta 3:1
Nijas Lena played all minutes for Teuta in the road game against Skënderbeu.

Australia, Hyundai A-League, Newcastle United Jets – Western Sydney Wanderers 4:0
Daniel Georgievski is still injured, thus he wasn’t part of the hosts matchday squad.

Cyprus, Protáthlima Cyta, AEL – AEK 0:0
Davor Zdravkovski‘s team hosted Ivan Trichkovski and Daniel Mojsov. Davor remained on the bench, while the two visitors played the whole 90 minutes with Mojsov picking up a yellow card deep into the stoppage time.

Cyprus, Protáthlima Cyta, Aris – Alki 0:0
Both keeper Edin Nuredinoski and defender Vlatko Drobarov played the full match for the home side and managed to defend well their goal.

Cyprus, Protáthlima Cyta, Ermis – Apollon 0:6
For the entire 90 minutes Aleksandar Damchevski was part of his team’s humiliating home defeat.

Keeper Martin Bogatinov played the whole game, same as wing back Mite Cikarski. Their team was defeated with a 90 minute goal.

England, Championship, Leeds United – Hull City 1:0
Ezgjan Alioski opened on the left wing for Leeds and played all minutes as his team collected a narrow win against Hull City.

Italy, Serie A, Genoa – Benevento 1:0
Goran Pandev missed a great chance to bring Genoa the lead when he hit the bar in the 40th minute. In the second half he had another chance to score, but this time he hit the keeper. He played the full 90 minutes as his team won the points with a penalty goal in the second injury minute.

Italy, Serie B, Cesena – Palermo 1:1
Aleksandar Trajkovski scored the only goal for the visitors when he broke the dead lock in the 9th minute. He played the whole game, while his teammate Ilija Nestorovski was out with an injury. Nestorovski got back on training and it is expected to be in the squad for the next game.

Japan, Emperor’s Cup, Yokohama F·Marinos – Kashiwa Antlers 2:1 AET
David Babunski stayed on the bench for the entire 120 minutes. His teammates managed to defeat the cup holders with a late goal in the 118th minute. Babunski now has a chance to lift the trophy as his Yokohama reached the final which will be played on 01 January.

Netherlands, Eredivisie, Excelsior – Twente 0:0
Nikola Gjorgjev wasn’t included
in Twente’s squad as he already left the team and went back to Grasshoppers.

Netherlands, Eerste Divisie, Dordrecht – Jong PSV 2:3
Both Denis Mahmudov and Antonio
Stankov
were in the
starting lineup for Dordrecht. Stankov played the whole match, while Mahmudov
was replaced in the 69th minute.

Netherlands, Eerste Divisie, Fortuna – Jong Utrecht 3:1
Stefan Ashkovski entered the
match in the 79th minute and helped his team continue the good form
and keep the leading position in the Dutch Eerste Divisie.

Spain, Primera División, Sevilla – Levante 0:0
Enis Bardhi didn’t play for Levante because of injury.

Spain, Segunda División, Gimnàstic – Huesca 1:2
Stole Dimitrievski was Nàstic’s starting goalkeeper and conceded two goals in their home loss against the table leaders.

Highlights:

Turkey, Süper Lig, Galatasaray – Göztepe 3:1
Adis Jahovikj spent all minutes on the field for Göztepe and netted his team’s only goal at 9th minute from the penalty spot. His team took the lead with that goal, but at the end lost the game. This was his 14th goal this season and he’s the leading scorer in the Turkish championship together with Bafetimbi Gomis of Galatasaray and Burak Yılmaz of Trabzonspor.
