Macedonian internationals performances

Jovan Kostovski after his goal; photo: sport.beJovan Kostovski got on the scoresheet in the opening round of the Belgian season, Ilija Nestorovski and Mario Gjurovski netted one goal apiece for their respective teams, Vanche Shikov returned to action from his injury, while Leonard Zuta continued to be fielded in central defense.

Vanche Shikov began the game on the bench for Austria Wien before he was introduced in the 34th minute to replace the injured Richard Windbichler. Shikov was just returning from a long-term injury himself, but he was called upon quickly after Windbichler went down. Austria Wien opened the new season with a road triumph over Wolfsberger.

Croatia, MAXtv Prva Liga, Dinamo Zagreb – Inter Zaprešić 5:1
Arijan Ademi was given a rest by Dinamo Zagreb, while Ilija Nestorovski played all 90 minutes for Inter Zaprešić. Nestorovski scored the only goal for the visitors in the 51st minute. His first effort, a header, was nicely saved by the keeper, but Ilija scored on the rebound after a bad clearance by two Dinamo players. Nestorovski also picked up a yellow card in the 38th minute.

Croatia, MAXtv Prva Liga, Zagreb – Rijeka 3:3
Stefan Ristovski was an unused substitute for Rijeka.

Croatia, MAXtv Prva Liga, RNK Split – Osijek 2:1
Marko Simonovski started for RNK Split and played until the 88th minute when he was replaced by Josip Tomasevic. RNK Split scored two quick goals midway through the 1st half to narrowly edge Osijek.

Slovenia, PrvaLiga Telekom Slovenije, Domžale – Maribor 0:1
Agim Ibraimi did not play for Maribor due to an injury, while Zeni Husmani was an unused substitute for Domžale. On their website, Maribor said that Ibraimi will have to rest for a few days due to an injury to his thigh muscle.

Belgium, Jupiler Pro League, Genk – OH Leuven 3:1
Jovan Kostovski opened on the bench for OH Leuven before he was introduced at the start of the 2nd half to replace Kevin Tapoko. Kostovski would go on to score his team’s lone goal in the 63rd minute when he sent a close range effort past the Genk keeper.

Belgium, Jupiler Pro League, Zulte Waregem – Lokeren 3:1
Besart Abdurahimi was a healthy exclusion by Lokeren. The club has a new manager this season, but Abdurahimi does not fit in his plans. Besart is obviously not happy with his role, so the possibility remains that he may join another team before the end of the summer transfer window.

Mirko Ivanovski got the start for Videoton and played until the 55th minute when he made way for Alhassane Soumah. Videoton, the defending champion in Hungary, has opened the new season with back-to-back losses in league play.

Enis Bardhi began on the bench for Újpest before he entered the pitch in the 39th minute to take the spot of Gyula Forró.

Poland, Ekstraklasa, Zagłębie Lubin – Korona Kielce 0:2
Aleksandar Todorovski played all 90 minutes for Zagłębie Lubin who conceded one goal in each half to suffer the home defeat against Korona Kielce.

Russia, Premier League, Krylia Sovetov – CSKA Moscow 0:2
Adis Jahovic missed another match for Krylia Sovetov due to an injury. On his Instagram profile, Jahovic wrote that he will be out for three more weeks.

Sweden, Allsvenskan, Häcken – Kalmar 3:0
Leonard Zuta played the entire game for Häcken and was part of a defense that kept a clean sheet. Zuta was once again fielded in central defense. Leonard told us this was his third consecutive game at CB. He noted the first was because of an injury to a teammate, while the last two were a coach’s decision.

Sweden, Superettan, Utsiktens – Mjällby 0:0
Daniel Ivanovski did not feature for Mjällby as he was deemed ineligible by the Swedish federation. He just signed with Mjällby earlier in the week, so more time was needed for him to be cleared.

Switzerland, Challenge League, Chiasso – Schaffhausen 3:0
Ezgjan Alioski was out of action for Schaffhausen, the reason given being an injury.

Samir Fazli was not included in the Wil squad due to a red card suspension.

Taulant Sulejmanov-Seferi continues to be sidelined with an injury for Young Boys.

Thailand, Toyota Premier League, Muangthong United – Saraburi 2:0
Mario Gjurovski played all 90 minutes for Muangthong United and scored the first goal in the 46th minute. It came on a nice lob over the keeper from around the edge of the area. Gjurovski was then shown a yellow card for removing his jersey in the celebration.

Thailand, Toyota Premier League, Port – Bangkok Glass 0:1
Darko Tasevski was not available for Bangkok Glass due to a yellow cards suspension.

Serbia, Jelen SuperLiga, Mladost Lučani – Novi Pazar 1:1
Aleksandar Lazevski was not included in the matchday squad by Mladost Lučani, while his teammate Tome Kitanovski played the whole game at right-back. As for Novi Pazar, Stefan Ashkovski started and played until the 90th minute when he was replaced by Petar Pavlovic, while his teammate Ivan Nastevski was an unused substitute.

Czech Republic, Synot Liga, Slovácko – Dukla 4:3
Veliche Shumulikoski started in defensive midfield for Slovácko and played all 90 minutes. Shumulikoski also picked up a yellow card in the 29th minute as Slovácko opened the new Czech season with a high-scoring win.

South Korea, K-League Classic, Jeonnam – Jeju United 3:1
Stevica Ristic played the complete match for Jeonnam who collected a comfortable home victory to remain in third place on the standings.

Kazakhstan, Premier League, Zhetysu – Kaisar 2:1
Dushan Savic began on the wing for Zhetysu and took part in the whole encounter. Zhetysu twice took the lead, holding on after their second goal in the 58th minute.

Bulgaria, A Group, Lokomotiv Plovdiv – Beroe 1:2
Zoran Baldovaliev was not eligible to play for Lokomotiv Plovdiv as that club is still waiting for his documents. They have yet to arrive from the Greek football federation (he last played in the second division in Greece).

Denmark, Bet25 Liga, Vejle – Fredericia 1:1
Antonio Stankov started at right-back for Vejle and played the full 90 minutes. This was his debut for Vejle in the Danish second division.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, Premijer Liga, Zrinjski – Olimpic 2:0
Filip Gligorov played all 90 minutes for Olimpic who opened the new season with a road loss.

Finland, Veikkausliiga, Inter Turku – Lahti 0:2
Egzon Belica was an unused substitute for Inter Turku.

United States, North American Soccer League, Indy Eleven – New York Cosmos 1:1
Dragan Stojkov got the start for Indy Eleven and played until the 78th minute when he made way for Daniel Keller. Stojkov was credited with the assist on the lone goal for his team in the 49th minute. He played a good long ball to Dylan Mares who did the rest with a calm finish. Dragan was also shown a yellow card in the 34th minute.
