Macedonian internationals performances

Nikolov scored a great goal from distanceBoban Nikolov scored a spectacular goal for Viitorul, Stole Dimitrievski debuted for Granada in Spain’s top flight, while the likes of Adis Jahovikj, Jovan Kostovski, Stefan Spirovski, Darko Tasevski, Stevica Ristikj and Aleksandar Stankov each recorded one goal for their respective teams.

Germany, Bundesliga, Paderborn – Mainz 2:2
Nikolche Noveski started at left CB for Mainz and played until the 52nd minute when an injury forced him to be substituted by Gonzalo Jara.  The injury is not believed to be serious, but Noveski might lose his spot in the starting lineup.  Mainz has a new manager who likes the club’s two younger center-backs in Niko Bungert and Stefan Bell, so Noveski may very well not return as the starter when he recovers from his injury.

Belgium, Jupiler Pro League, Mechelen – Club Brugge 3:1
Tome Pachovski remained on the bench for Mechelen as the #2 keeper behind Wouter Biebauw.  Mechelen benched Pachovski two weeks ago because he was suffering from a lack of confidence.  That is terrible timing for both his club and national team since Macedonia will face Spain in two weeks.  Sadly, Macedonia does not seem to have any quality options at keeper, so Pachovski is certain to start the Spain qualifier, even while he is lacking confidence at the moment (based on comments a Mechelen assistant coach gave to local newspapers).

Belgium, Jupiler Pro League, Zulte Waregem – Mouscron-Péruwelz 1:1
Aleksandar Trajkovski played the opening 45 minutes for Zulte Waregem before he was replaced at the start of the 2nd half by Idrissa Sylla.  Trajkovski came the closest to a goal just before half-time, but his free kick went over the crossbar.

Belgium, Jupiler Pro League, Cercle Brugge – Lokeren 1:0
Besart Abdurahimi came off the bench for Lokeren in the 62nd minute to take the place of Mbaye Leye.  Abdurahimi had one chance in the 73rd minute, but he fired his shot into the side netting.

Belgium, Cofidis Cup, Bornem – OH Leuven 1:4
Jovan Kostovski started for OH Leuven and played until the 73rd minute when he was substituted by Kenny Van Hoevelen.  Kostovski scored the second goal for his team in the 58th minute as OH Leuven easily advanced to the next round of the Belgian Cup.

Austria, Tipico Bundesliga, Austria Wien – Rapid Wien 2:2
Vanche Shikov played the entire game for Austria Wien who twice had the lead over their in-city rival, but each time Rapid Wien came back to tie the match.  After 6 rounds, Austria Wien has yet to win a game this season as they have recorded 5 draws and 1 loss.

Austria, Tipico Bundesliga, Sturm Graz – Wolfsberger 1:2
Aleksandar Todorovski played all 90 minutes for Sturm Graz who took the initial lead in the 52nd minute, but Wolfsberger turned that score around with two goals in the 66th and 77th minute.  Wolfsberger continued their unexpected start this season with the maximum 18 points from their opening six games.

Slovenia, PrvaLiga Telekom Slovenije, Maribor – Zavrč 3:0
Agim Ibraimi was an unused substitute for Maribor.

Slovenia, PrvaLiga Telekom Slovenije, Koper – Domžale 0:1
Zeni Husmani started in defensive midfield for Domžale and played until the 88th minute when he was replaced by Darko Zec.  Domžale stayed perfect this season with six wins out of six leagues to occupy the top spot on the table.

Spain, Liga BBVA, Granada – Deportivo La Coruña 2:1
Stole Dimitrievski played from the start for Granada and conceded one goal in the 20th minute.  It was a bad goal as Dimitrievski bobbled a shot by the opposing player before the ball got past him and into the back of the net.  Dimitrievski looked nervous but to be fair he has never played in that kind of an atmosphere before (after all he was making his debut in La Liga at age 20).  Stole, however, was helped by the fact that Granada dominated the match and most of the action was taking place on the other half of the field.  Overall, it was good that his conceded goal did not cost Granada the three points, but it’s unlikely that Dimitrievski inspired enough confidence to be given another start.

Spain, Liga Adelante, Osasuna – Barcelona B 2:0
David Babunski began the game on the bench for Barcelona B before he came on in the 66th minute to replace Joan Àngel Román.  Babunski was mostly quiet as Barcelona B opened the Spanish second division season with a road loss against Osasuna.

Croatia, MAXtv Prva Liga, Dinamo Zagreb – NK Zagreb 1:1
Arijan Ademi was given a rest by Dinamo Zagreb and did not feature in the draw against NK Zagreb.

Croatia, MAXtv Prva Liga, Lokomotiva – Rijeka 2:1
Adis Jahovikj played all 90 minutes for Rijeka and scored the lone goal for his team in the 75th minute.  That tied the game at 1:1, but Lokomotiva then netted the game winner in the 82nd minute courtesy of an own goal.  Furthermore, Jahovikj also had a big miss in the 61st minute when he sent his effort wide from a great position.

Switzerland, Schweizer Cup, Baden – St. Gallen 0:3
Muhamed Demiri was an unused substitute for St. Gallen.

Switzerland, Schweizer Cup, Dietikon – Wil 0:4
Samir Fazli opened on the bench for Wil before he officially made his competitive debut for his new club in the 65th minute when he took the spot of Basil Stillhart.  Wil added three goals after that substitution to collect a comfortable 4:0 victory in the domestic cup competition.

Switzerland, Schweizer Cup, Perly-Certoux – Schaffhausen 2:4
Ezgjan Alioski was not included in the Schaffhausen squad due to an injury.

Switzerland, Schweizer Cup, Mendrisio – Chiasso 0:2
Zoran Baldovaliev started in attack for Chiasso and played until the 77th minute when he was replaced by Marco Franin.  Baldovaliev scored the first goal of the game in the 8th minute against lower division side Mendrisio to help Chiasso reach the next round of the Swiss Cup.

France, Ligue 1, Saint-Étienne – Rennes 0:0
Gjoko Zajkov was not among the 18 players called up by Rennes.  Instead, Zajkov was slated to play for the reserve team of Rennes on Sunday.

Norway, Tippeligaen, Vålerenga – Brann 3:3
Daniel Mojsov played the whole match for Brann who came back from two goals by scoring twice after the 80th minute.  Brann badly needs points as they remain in the relegation zone in Norway.  Earlier this week, Brann posted an article on their site that Mojsov has received a call-up to the Macedonian squad for the game against Spain.

Norway, Tippeligaen, Strømsgodset – Stabæk 2:3
Stefan Ashkovski was an unused substitute for Strømsgodset.

Netherlands, Eredivisie, NAC Breda – Twente 1:1
Aleksandar Damchevski played the entire game for NAC Breda who needed a late equalizer to clinch a hard fought point against Twente.  Like Brann, NAC Breda also announced on their official website that Damchevski has been called up by the Macedonia for next month’s qualifier against Spain.

Poland, T-Mobile Ekstraklasa, Pogoń Szczecin – Wisła Kraków 0:3
Ostoja Stjepanovikj remains sidelined for Wisła Kraków with a torn ACL in his right knee.

Bulgaria, A Group, Litex Lovech – Levski 3:0
Kristijan Naumovski stayed on the bench for Levski as the #2 keeper behind Aleksandar Lyubenov.  Levski will soon get Plamen Iliev (their starting keeper from last year) back from injury, so Naumovski will fall further down the pecking order.  Bulgarian media reported earlier this week that Levski is already looking to release Naumovski because he has failed to impress.

Bulgaria, A Group, Botev Plovdiv – Slavia 2:0
Kire Ristevski played all 90 minutes for Slavia who conceded a goal in each half on their way to the road loss against Botev Plovdiv.

Bulgaria, A Group, Beroe – Haskovo 3:0
Stefan Spirovski opened on the bench for Beroe before he was introduced at the start of the 2nd half to replace Samir Ayass.  Spirovski scored the final goal for Beroe in the 80th minute on an effort from close range.  Due to weather issues, this game was played over two days.  The 1st half was played on Saturday, while the 2nd half had to be played on Sunday because heavy rain ruined the pitch.

Slovakia, Fortuna Liga, Košice – Spartak Trnava 2:0
Darko Tofiloski started in goal for Košice and played until the 9th minute when an injury forced him to be substituted by the backup keeper Nikola Stijaković.  Slovak newspapers reported that Tofiloski suffered a muscle strain injury, but the severity of it was not revealed.

Thailand, Toyota Thai Premier League, Chonburi – Muangthong United 2:0
Mario Gjurovski missed his third consecutive encounter for Muangthong United due to an injury.  The club has struggled without the presence of Gjurovski as they have not scored a goal in that span.

Thailand, Toyota Thai Premier League, Bangkok Glass – TOT 6:1
Darko Tasevski played the entire game for Bangkok Glass in attacking midfield, while his teammate Bazhe Ilijoski came off the bench in the 78th minute to substitute Lazarus Kaimbi.  Tasevski scored the opening goal of the game in the 11th minute with a right footed shot from the edge of the area.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, BH Telecom Premier League, Mladost – Sarajevo 1:1
Krste Velkoski played all 90 minutes for Sarajevo, while his teammate Riste Mitrevski continues to be left out of the matchday squad.  Mitrevski has yet to play a competitive match for Sarajevo since signing with them this summer.  Velkoski, meanwhile, is another name that we know will be called up for the Spain match after Sarajevo revealed that news on their social media sites.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, BH Telecom Premier League, Zvijezda – Olimpic 2:2
Filip Gligorov started for Olimpic and played until the 83rd minute when he made way for Aris Nukić.

Serbia, Jelen SuperLiga, Vojvodina – Crvena Zvezda 0:1
Daniel Avramovski was not among the 18 players called up by Crvena Zvezda.  The club’s new signings this summer, one of them being Avramovski, have still not received clearance by the Serbian federation due to Crvena Zvezda having some prior debts.

Serbia, Jelen SuperLiga, Napredak – OFK Beograd 2:4
Darko Micevski played the entire game for OFK Beograd who recorded their first win of the young season by knocking off Napredak.

Serbia, Jelen SuperLiga, Jagodina – Radnički Niš 3:1
Nikola Jakimovski was not included in the matchday squad by Jagodina.  Nikola was out of the team for the second consecutive league match.  He has been linked with Italian club Catania in several newspapers this month, but it’s tough to say whether that interest is real or fabricated.  We shall find out pretty soon since the summer transfer market ends in a week.

Serbia, Jelen SuperLiga, Voždovac – Rad 1:6
Tome Kitanovski started on the bench for Voždovac before he entered the game in the 70th minute to take the place of Predrag Stanimirović.  Voždovac suffered a heavy defeat which saw Rad striker Petar Jelić notch 5 goals.

Albania, Kategoria Superiore, Laçi – Partizani 1:1
Ardian Cuculi played all 90 minutes for Partizani who opened the new season in Albania with a road draw against Laçi.  Partizani already announced on Twitter earlier this week that Cuculi has received an invitation by the Macedonian federation for the Spain qualifier.

Albania, Kategoria Superiore, Flamurtari – Teuta 2:1
Nijaz Lena played the whole match for Flamurtari who scored both of their goals in the opening half hour to down Teuta.

Romania, Liga I, Pandurii – Viitorul 1:1
Boban Nikolov played the opening 45 minutes for Viitorul before he was replaced at the start of the 2nd half by Răzvan Marin.  Nikolov gave Viitorul the lead in the 37th minute on a spectacular goal from over 30 meters.  Boban was minding his business before he decided to fire a perfectly placed shot into the top left corner past the diving Pandurii keeper.

Video of the great goal by Nikolov:

Romania, Liga I, Concordia – Dinamo București 0:0
Both Filip Timov and Hristijan Dragarski were unused substitutes for Concordia.

Cyprus, First Division Championship, Doxa – Ermis 0:2
Martin Bogatinov played from the start for Ermis and kept a clean sheet in his league debut for his new club.  In the 2nd half, Bogatinov was involved in a collision which led to his getting treatment on his head.  However, he was able to remain in the game and go the full 90 minutes.

Cyprus, First Division Championship, Ethnikos Achnas – Ayia Napa 2:1
Bojan Markoski played the entire game for Ayia Napa who opened the new season in Cyprus with a slim loss against Ethnikos Achnas.  Markoski served as the captain for Ayia Napa.

Sweden, Allsvenskan, Mjällby – Helsingborg 1:2
Daniel Ivanovski played the entire game for Mjällby who could not hold on to their initial lead by then conceding two goals to Helsingborg’s attacker David Accam.

Kazakhstan, Premier League, Shakhter – Kaisar 0:0

South Korea, K-League Classic, Busan – Jeonnam 0:1
Stevica Ristikj played all 90 minutes for Jeonnam and scored the late game winner in stoppage time on a header past the Busan keeper.  That goal was enough for Jeonnam to take home all three points.

The goal by Ristikj:

Greece, Super League, Kerkyra – Panthrakikos 2:1
Vladimir Dimitrovski opened on the bench for Kerkyra before he made a late appearance in the 88th minute to replace Spanish midfielder Javito.  The Kerkyra manager wanted to protect his team’s slim lead so he brought on an extra defender in Dimitrovski for the final few minutes.

Denmark, NordicBet Ligaen, Brønshøj – Viborg 1:2
Aleksandar Stankov started in attack for Viborg and played until the 90th minute when he was substituted by Babajide Ogunbiyi, while his teammate Antonio Stankov stayed on the bench as an unused substitute.  Aleksandar scored his team’s first goal in the 54th minute and also received a yellow card during the game.
