Italy, Serie A, Cesena – Napoli 1:3
Goran Pandev started on the bench for Napoli before he entered the game in the 66th minute replacing Salvatore Aronica.  Pandev played mostly on the right wing but his debut will be marked by the huge miss in the 85th minute.  Christian Maggio was very unselfish and found Pandev who had an open goal in front of him but he somehow struck the crossbar from close range.  An unacceptable miss but Pandev was fortunate that the missed goal did not effect the outcome of the game since Napoli still recorded a 3:1 victory to open the Serie A season.
