Nikolce Noveski played the entire game for Mainz who suffered a humiliating 4:0 home defeat at the hands of Hoffenheim. Mainz was punished on several occasions for their careless mistakes and the miserable game concluded by Noveski scoring an own goal in 85th minute. Mainz lost the ball at their own half of the field before Hoffenheim created another chance and Noveski inadvertently sent the ball into his own net while trying to clear the ball.

Goran Popov played all 90 minutes for Dynamo Kyiv who recorded a comfortable victory over Illichivets to remain tied for first place on the table with Shakhtar Donetsk. Both teams now have 23 points after nine rounds.

Martin Bogatinov played from the start for Karpaty and conceded one goal in the 72nd minute. The goal by Oleksandria came on a header following a corner kick from the right. Karpaty continued the disappointing season and now finds itself with only six points after nine rounds.

Vance Sikov played the entire game for Volyn who suffered a convincing road loss against Shakhtar. The home side played very good attacking football and their quickness and movement gave a lot of problems to the Volyn defenders. Sikov had one chance in the 65th minute but his powerful free kick from about 35 meters was punched away by the opposing keeper. Sikov also saved a goal in the 87th minute when he made a clearance that prevented a goal by Shakhtar attacker Douglas Costa.
