Nikolce Noveski started for Mainz and played until the 43rd minute when he picked up an injury and had to be substituted by Marco Caligiuri. Noveski played a part in a good chance for Mainz in the 9th minute when he made a nice pass to his teammate Malik Fathi who then made a good cross from the left which reached Andreas Ivanschitz who hit the post with a header.  This was the final round of the Bundesliga season and Mainz had a great season by finishing in 5th place and securing a place in the Europa League for next season.
