There was certainly contact in the box but it seemed to be a harsh call as the Hannover player fell down too easily looking for a penalty instead of trying to play the ball. The only decision that counted was from the referee and he pointed to the spot and gave Noveski a red card for being the last defender and preventing a clear goal scoring opportunity. Noveski had played in every minute for Mainz this season but the red card put an end to that streak.
