Macedonian internationals performances

Aco Stojkov (L) on the match against Biel-BienneAco Stojkov scored two goals for Aarau as the Swiss Challenge League resumed after the long winter break, Boban Grncarov scored another goal for APOEL but it wasn’t enough as his team suffered a narrow loss, while Armend Alimi played a part in two goals for Istra 1961 in a friendly against Dinamo Zagreb.

Italy, Serie A, Inter – Cagliari 1:0
Goran Pandev played all 90 minutes for Inter and he was much more active in this game especially early in the game where he forced the Cagliari keeper to make two wonderful saves.  In the 2nd minute, Pandev unleashed a powerful left footed shot from outside of the box but the opposing keeper made a diving save and it went for a corner.  Three minutes later, Pandev showed great technique as his shot seemed to be heading to the top corner but the impressive Cagliari keeper denied him once again and it went for another corner.  Inter scored the only goal of the game in the 7th minute but there was controversy as Inter took a free kick quickly and the first shot by Houssine Kharja was saved but Kharja attempted another shot that hit Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia and it went in the goal but replays showed that Ranocchia was offside.  Cagliari protested to the referee about Inter being allowed to take the free kick quickly when they were not ready but the goal stood and that turned out to be the decisive moment as it was the only goal of the game.

Italy, Campionato Primavera, Novara Primavera – Parma Primavera 0:1
Stefan Ristovski started at RB and played the entire game for the Parma Primavera team while his teammate Agron Bufi was not called up.

Germany, 1.Bundesliga, Mainz 05 – Bayern München 1:3
Nikolce Noveski played all 90 minutes for Mainz who had trouble dealing with Bayern’s potent attackers who created many chances and could have easily scored more than three goals.  Mainz got off to a great start in the Bundesliga but they have struggled recently and are now in 5th place with 37 points from 23 games.

Germany, 1.Bundesliga, Nürnberg – Eintracht Frankfurt 3:0
Both Oka Nikolov and Aleksandar Vasoski played the entire game for Eintracht Frankfurt who continued their struggles as they have now lost five of their last six games in the Bundesliga.  Vasoski had an early chance in the 10th minute to open the score when he went forward on a free kick and the ball found him in the penalty area but his shot from a good position was way over the goal.  Vasoski then made a great clearance in the 40th minute when he slid following a dangerous cross from the right and he was able to get a piece of the ball and it went for a corner.  From the resulting corner, Nikolov made a great save to prevent an own goal as his teammate headed the ball the wrong way but Nikolov showed great reflexes to keep the score at 0:0.  The score stayed tied until the 67th minute when Nürnberg scored from a free kick as Nikolov misjudged the low shot and it went past him for the first goal of the game.  In the 82nd minute, Nikolov made another phenomenal save to keep his team in the game but Nürnberg scored two late goals to put the game away.  Vasoski was at fault on the second goal by Nürnberg in the 87th minute when he was dispossessed of the ball by Róbert Mak who then chipped the ball over Nikolov who got a touch on the ball but it wasn’t enough to keep the ball from reaching the back of the net.  Nürnberg made it 3:0 in the 90th minute with a shot from outside of the box and Nikolov had no chance as he made a diving attempt but the shot hit the inside of the right goal post before it went in to the back of the net.

Austria, T-Mobile Bundesliga, Mattersburg – Sturm Graz 1:1
Ilco Naumoski did not play for Mattersburg as he was serving the second of his three game suspension.

Cyprus, Marfin Laiki League, Alki – APOEL 2:1
Both Boban Grncarov and Ivan Trickovski played the entire game for APOEL who suffered a surprising loss away to Alki who are in 10th place out of 14 teams in Cyprus.  It didn’t take long for the first goal as Alki was awarded a penalty in the 1st minute which they converted and it was quickly 1:0 for the home team.  Trickovski had a chance to equalize in the 12th minute but his shot was saved nicely by the Alki keeper and it went for a corner.  The score stayed 1:0 until the 56th minute when Grncarov scored on a header to tie the game as this was Grncarov’s fifth goal of the season which is a lot considering Grncarov is a defender.  In the 62nd minute, Trickovski attempted a header of his own but it was saved by the opposing keeper.  It remained 1:1 until the 90th minute when Alki scored the game winning goal to give them a huge upset victory over APOEL who suffered their second consecutive loss but remain 1st place in the standings.

Cyprus, Marfin Laiki League, Ethnikos Achnas – Olympiakos Nicosia 0:1

Edin Nuredinoski played from the start for Ethnikos Achnas and conceded one goal in the 70th minute, Vance Sikov started at CB and played the entire game, Stojan Ignjatov started on the bench before he entered the game in the 86th minute replacing Petros Filaniotis, while Filip Ivanovski was not called up because of an injury.

Switzerland, Axpo Super League, Thun – Young Boys 1:1
Muhamed Demiri played all 90 minutes for Thun who took the lead in the 11th minute but could not hold on to the win as Young Boys equalized in the 90th minute.

Switzerland, Challenge League, Aarau – Biel-Bienne 5:3
Both Aco Stojkov and Aleksandar Mitreski played the entire game for Aarau as Stojkov also scored two goals to help his team get off to a winning start in the first game after the long winter break.  Stojkov scored his first goal by converting a penalty in the 34th minute and added his second goal in the 51st minute while Mitreski made his debut for Aarau by starting at CB but he will want to improve as the visitors scored three goals.

Greece, Superleague Greece, Asteras Tripolis – Kerkyra 0:2
Goran Maznov started for Kerkyra and played until the 58th minute when he was replaced by Christos Kalantzis but Kerkyra scored both goals after Maznov was substituted.

Turkey, Bank Asya 1. Lig, Çaykur Rizespor – Orduspor 3:0
Jovan Kostovski started for Orduspor and played until the 63rd minute when he was replaced by Ahmet Kuru while his teammate Muarem Muarem did not play because of a yellow cards suspension.  Kostovski missed the previous game with a yellow cards suspension but he didn’t learn his lesson as he received another yellow card in the 54th minute of this game.

Turkey, Bank Asya 1. Lig, Boluspor – Samsunspor 0:1
Oliver Peev started on the bench for Boluspor before he entered the game at the start of the 2nd half replacing Fatih Gül.  Peev could not make a difference as his team suffered a narrow loss and he also received a yellow card in the 64th minute.

Netherlands, Eredivisie, Heerenveen – AZ Alkmaar 0:2
Samir Fazli was an unused substitute for Heerenveen.

Azerbaijan, Unibank Premyer Liqası, Simurq – Neftçi 0:3
Both Igor Mitreski and Slavco Georgievski played the entire game for Neftçi as their team picked up a convincing victory against Simurg whose manager is Macedonian Gjoko Hadžievski.  Georgievski also picked up a yellow card in the 62nd minute.

Azerbaijan, Unibank Premyer Liqası, MOIK – Inter Bakı 0:4

was not called up by Inter Bakı because of an injury.

Azerbaijan, Unibank Premyer Liqası, Gäncä – Qarabağ 0:1

started for Qarabağ and played until the 66th minute when he was replaced by Samir Abasov.

Martin Bogatinov played the 1st half for Karpaty Lviv and kept a clean sheet as Litex Lovech scored their three goals in the 2nd half against another keeper.

Daniel Mojsov played from the start for Vojvodina.

Friendly, Istra 1961 – Dinamo Zagreb 3:4
Armend Alimi started for Istra 1961 and played until the 87th minute when he was replaced by Mirko Plantić.  Alimi played a part in the first two goals for Istra 1961 as his shot from the right in the 16th minute was initially saved by the keeper but Franjo Tepurić scored on the rebound and then in the 31st minute, Alimi took a free kick from about 35 meters which was headed in by Slobodan Stranatić.
