Macedonian internationals performances (01-04.02.2019)

Very quiet weekend for our internationals. Only Artim Polozhani managed to find the back of the net as none else scored, neither any assist was recorded. Worth noticing is that Nikola Gjorgjev played the first match for Grasshoppers this season

Albania, Kategoria Superiore, Flamurtari – Kukësi 1:2
Artim Polozhani and Muhamed Useini were starters and played all minutes for the hosts, while Ardian Cuculi played the last 20 minutes for Kukësi. Ardian’s teammate Edis Malikji didn’t make the matchday squad. In the 33rd minute Polozhani netted his team’s equalizer when he headed home a corner, but eventually the visitors grabbed three points.

Neither Bojan Najdenov wasn’t part of the hosts’ matchday squad, nor Riste Ilijovski of the visiting squad.

Egzon Belica played the entire game for Partizani and was part of a defense that kept a clean sheet, whereas his teammate Besnik Ferati didnt’t make the squad for this encounter. Meanwhile, Bojan Gjorgievski recently signed for Kamza, but wasn’t part of this game.

Goalie Bobi Celeski returned to Teuta’s bench after he had his first start in the previous round.

Australia, Hyundai A-League, Western Sydney Wanderers – Newcastle United Jets 1:5
Daniel Georgievski began at left-back for Newcastle and played all minutes as his team demolished the Wanderers on the road.

Azerbaijan, Topaz Premyer Liqası, Keşlə – Səbail 0:3
Tome Kitanovski wasn’t called up by the visitors for this encounter.

Belgium, Jupiler Pro League, Mouscron – Charleroi 3:0
Gjoko Zajkov spent the entire game on the host’s bench. Charleroi plays a defense with 3 center-backs lately but Zajkov seems to be the fourth choice by the manager.

Belgium, Proximus League, Leuven – Roeselare 0:1
Jovan Kostovski was not included in the host’s squad. OH Leuven recently informed Jovan to search for a new club as they do not count on him for the remaining part of the season.

Emil Abaz did not make the matchday squad for the visitors.

Croatia, Hrvatski Telekom Prva Liga, Dinamo – Rudeš 7:2
Arijan Ademi started the game and played until the 65th minute as his club demolished Rudeš with 7:2. It was 6:1 when Iyayi Atiemwen took his place.

Agron Rufati played the full 90 minutes for Istra.

Croatia, Hrvatski Telekom Prva Liga, Osijek – Hajduk 0:1
Neither Muzafer Ejupi by the hosts nor Mirko Ivanovski by the visitors made the squad for this game.

For the first time since joining Rijeka, Darko Velkovski finally made the squad for his club and spent the entire game at the bench.

Davor Zdravkovski played the whole match for the hosts in the Macedonian derby in Cyprus, as did Daniel Mojsov and Ivan Trichkovski for the visiting side.

Dushko Trajchevski started on the bench and was brought on at the start of the second half when his team was already two goals down.

England, Championship, Leeds United – Norwich City 1:3
Ezgjan Alioski played the whole match for Leeds, but his side came short against promotion rivals Norwich. With this defeat, Leeds and Norwich are now tied for first place, while Sheffield United follow with 3 points less.

Greece, Souroti Soúper Lígka, Aris – Giannina 1:0
Mite Cikarski did not feature in the away team’s squad. He was about to leave the club this transfer window due to low playing time, but at the end he stayed.

Nikola Jakimovski played the whole match for the hosts, while Davor Taleski was not part of the matchday squad.

Hungary, OTP Bank Liga, Ferencváros – Honvéd 1:0
Stefan Spirovski was once again not part of the home team. It seems like his injury is still bugging him.

Kire Ristevski played the whole match for the away team and was part of a defense which kept clean sheet.

Boban Nikolov played the whole match for the hosts, but they were shocked in the opening round of the second half-season with a heavy home defeat.

Israel, Ligat Winner, Maccabi Tel-Aviv – Hapoel Haifa 1:1
Risto Mitrevski played the whole match for the visiting side as they won a point away from home against table leaders Maccabi. Mitrevski was booked in the first half.

Italy, Serie A, Genoa – Sassuolo 1:1
Goran Pandev replaced Antonio Sanabria in the 87th minute as his team was looking for a winner. However, Pandev could not do anything in the last three minutes of the match against Sassuolo.

Italy, Serie B, Palermo – Foggia 0:0
Aleksandar Trajkovski played the whole game for Palermo while his Ilija Nestorovski is still recovering from the injury. Their team third match in a row couldn’t win and eventually lost the table top.

Netherlands, Eredivisie, Excelsior – Feyenoord 2:1
Denis Mahmudov watched his team surprise Feyenoord from the bench for substitute players.

Netherlands, Erste Divisie, Dordrecht – Jong Ajax 3:3
Antonio Stankov played the whole match as captain of Dordrecht and earned a yellow card in the 71st minute.

Portugal, Liga NOS, Sporting – Benfica 2:4
Stefan Ristovski missed the big derby against Benfica because of the red card suspension from the previous match.

Romania, Liga I Betano, Voluntari – Sepsi 4:2
Marko Simonovski entered the match on the half time break instead of defender Adrián Rus, but was unable to help his team avoid the defeat. It was 2:1 at the time.

Saudi Arabia, Dawri Al-Muhtarifin Al-Saudia, Al-Shabab – Al-Ra’ed 1:1
Ferhan Hasani wasn’t part of the visiting squad.

Spain, Primera División, Levante – Getafe 0:0
Enis Bardhi played until the 71st minute for Levante when Borja Mayoral took his place.

Spain, Primera División, Rayo Vallecano – Leganes 1:2
Stole Dimitrievski was between the home posts and was twice forced to pick up the ball from his net. Rayo ended the five match undefeated run, losing by a direct relegation rival which resulted into going back into the zone.

Highlights:

Switzerland, Raiffeisen Super League, Grasshoppers – Basel 0:4
Nikola Gjorgjev played full game for Grasshoppers in his team’s heavy home defeat. He was fielded out of position at LB as his team recently sold their starting LB, Souleyman Doumbia, to Rennes. It was his first match for Grasshoppers this season as so far he was mostly playing for the U21 team with only twice being at the senior bench.

Turkey, Süper Lig, Bursaspor – Konyaspor 0:0
Jani Atanasov wasn’t part of the home squad, while both Leonard Zhuta and Adis Jahovic started for the visitors. Zhuta featured the full 90 minutes, while Adis was substituted two minutes before the end by Ali Çamdalı.

Turkey, Süper Lig, Fenerbahçe – Göztepe 2:0
Elif Elmas was unused substitute for the home team. With Fener badly needing points in league play, the coach has turned to deploying experienced/battle tested players. That has meant a spot on the bench for Elmas, with an occasional appearance here and there.
